Homo Urbanus Rabatius

This work is a long-term research project developed until now in 10 different cities over the world: Seoul, Bogota, Naples, Saint-Petersburg, Rabat, Tokyo, Kyoto, Shanghai, Doha and Venice. Born as an artistic commission for the Agora Biennale in Bordeaux around the theme of the moving landscapes, these videos plunge into cities in a spontaneous and subjective approach with very modest means in order to translate in the closest possible way the feel of their constant moving nature: their human landscape. Presented in a comparative dynamic through the lens of a selection of themes and issues linked with the street daily life, the videos enable us to perceive each of these different urban contexts as an experimental, local and unique laboratory answering the same global challenge of how can we live all together.

Homo Urbanus Petroburgumus

After the trying constraints of lockdown and social distancing that brutally reduced urban space to its strict minimum, making it into a place where isolated individuals merely cohabit, Homo Urbanus is a cinematic odyssey offering a vibrant tribute to what we have been most cruelly deprived of: namely, public space. Taking the form of a free-wheeling journey around the world (10 films, 10 cities), the project invites us to observe in detail the multiple forms and complex interactions that exist every day between people and their urban environments. Somewhere between visual anthropology and observational cinema, these films put urban man under the microscope and encourage us to take a closer look at individual and collective behaviour, interpersonal dynamics, social tensions, and the economic and political forces that play out every day on the grand stage of the city streets.

Sous le donjon de Manu le Malin

One evening in 1997, invited by the Astropolis team, Manu Le Malin discovered the Keriolet castle, in Concarneau. He was then 26 years old. Two decades later, the enfant terrible of hardcore (now also popular in the techno sphere) and the ravers of the Breton point form an inseparable family. Christophe Lévêque, the hedonistic owner of the castle, continues to welcome them every year. To retrace the history of Manu Le Malin, we gathered in Keriolet those who have been with him during these two decades. A family reunion in "Snow White's castle on acid", to tell the story of this strange night bird that only the light of day can stop.

Allan Taylor - 50 Years on the Road

The first concert/movie recording from the "Bürgersaal" Northeim - wall to wall next to the Stockfisch studio. On May 18, 2016, Allan Taylor performed in the "Bürgersaal" for the first time, the concert was quickly sold out and some of the guests were partly from far away - they came from Schleswig-Holstein, Berlin, Braunschweig, Frankfurt and even from Hungary and the Netherlands. A wonderful evening with the great songs of this artist, who has been traveling around the world for over half a century with his guitar, his stories and songs. The man, whose voice is so incomparably warm and deep, whose guitar playing is so puristic, yet so full and expressive, and whose wonderfully simple lyrics base always on deep thoughts and a touch of melancholy.

Disobey

DisObey is made as a direct result of a Leverhulme Trust and Arts Council England funded residency at the University of Lincoln School of Law and College of Social Science, in celebration of the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta. DisObey explores thinking around human rights, politics, activism, terrorism, youth crime and prevention, anti-social behavior, crime and deviance, social inclusion/exclusion, participation and representation. DisObey attempts to expand (and contract) definitions and interpretations of The Law. DisObey features Jason Warr, a criminologist from the University of Lincoln. Jason calls for a re-ordering of society: a recognition that we need to change our thinking and behavior radically in order to create a society that is truly fair and just for all. Jason also discusses his personal relationship with The Law as someone who has served 13 years in prison: Jason was imprisoned at the age of 17.

Somos Amor: Historias de familias diversas

Eight stories from diverse families. The richness of diversity compared to the concept of a single and exclusive traditional family. LGBTIQ families, single-mother families and reconstituted families put their voice in this work whose mission is to raise awareness through visibility. What is not seen, what is not named does not exist. It is time for all family models, sexual orientations and gender identities to occupy their rightful place in society.
