She delves into women's relation to men, to women, to their own body, to the menstrual cycle, historical national identity, gender identity and sexuality. In the process, she captures the silence and displacement of living overseas, as well as the intense intimacy between friends. Waiting for a menstrual period that never comes becomes a metaphor of suspension and the freedom of living in another country.

Farewell 1999 is a documentary that could move you to tears. Acclaimed director Wu Tai Ren takes viewers on a private and emotional journey contemplating the consequences of life and death, as she searches in her life for traces left by her late mother, who passed away four years ago. Wu captures her mournful self on film with a precise control over the narrative, trying to hold on to the memory of a loved one, while bidding farewell to the haunting sadness of death. In 1871, the photographer John Thomson came to Formosa to take photos which became the first images of the island seen in the West. Things have changed after more than a century. I chose one of his photos showing an indigenous mother and her child shot in Mucha, Kaohsiung as the starting point of an exploration of the island’s past and the mysterious origin of its ancestors.

One major focus of philosophical inquiry has been: how can individuals determine that their existence is not an illusion? However, for those enduring chronic immune diseases, reliance on life might paradoxically hinge on whether the pain is merely a dream. Inspired by the concept of khan-bông(a traditional taiwanese ritual) likening immune diseases to a prolonged battle against one's own body, the spirits of those who die in this war revisit fragments of their memories to re-examine and explore how life and existence coexist and find balance amid perpetual flux and instability.

On 27 February 1987, residents of Shui Yuan Village barricaded the front gate of LCY Chemical Corp factory, who was polluting the groundwater. On the 100th day of their protest, Hsinchu Mayor promised to have police stationed there. But the factory tried to secretly ship out their product. Pushed to the limit, the villagers built a wall with concrete and vowed never to be fooled again.

In PRISCILLA'S DREAM, real danger turns into an adventure in a dream. In the original film, Priscilla shuttles through the human home environment, and in PRISCILLA'S DREAM, she dreams of breaking away from human society, into the dream, into the state of flight in the dream, and finally out of the dream and into nature, and gaining complete freedom. This film removes the dangerous encounters and restrictions in the original film, changing the situation in which cats cannot escape from the human living environment.

Revisiting a post-war plague on Quemoy, memories of a survivor gather drifting fragments: a 16mm travelogue, charcoal drawings, electronic sound, and spoken testimony, forming a layered meditation on transmission and the unstable ownership of stories.

This is a story about the descendants of Takasago Giyutai (Taiwan Indigenous volunteer units during the Pacific War) went back to the battle field of the Pacific War in Papua New Guinea following the footsteps of their grandfathers, and made a monument based on a legend of ‘Amis people who believe the soul would return home by taking the wings of a certain kind of bird. The monument was build up at the Mission Hill in Wewak, where was a Japanese naval base during the War, there are two monuments, one of them was set up by the Japanese in 1969 and the other one was build up by the Australians afterwards. A monument is not only a way to memory the history, but also a cultural representation on the spiritual world, questioning that “do you believe the soul really have returned home by taking the wings?”

As a long-term migrant caregiver, Fidati shapes Indonesian stories with Taiwanese paper clay. After years of separation during the pandemic, she returns to Central Java in 2024. Laughter and tears intertwine, yet family duty keeps her moving between two lands, where the taste of mangoes bridges emotions across the sea.

Adult Diary explores how new media can shape gender and identity through nine virtual alter-egos. Starting from a diary of how a non-human becomes human, I created cinemagraphs of self-portraits and let one AI infer prompts, then passed them to another AI for expansion—like a back-and-forth game with the machine. The video, blending V8 camcorder texture and 360° language, unfolds in nine roles: a thought abortionist, a gender designer, a blockchain pet-communicator, and more. It reflects on identity, gender politics, and AI ethics beyond life and death.

Braised Delicacies is more than a flavor—it is a legacy shaped by three generations. Master Lin Shun-Cheng upholds traditional craftsmanship passed down from his father, while his apprentice Lai Yun-Chun brings innovation, and Lin's son works to meet his father's high standards. Though different in outlook, all three of them share deep respect for cooking. The film captures how craftsmanship and love quietly endure in this 80-year-old Chiayi establishment of food flavors.
