Viva Niki! The Spirit of Niki de Saint Phalle

The late French American artist Niki de Saint Phalle is remembered today for her Nanas, a highly spirited force of colorful female sculptures. These figures, as with all of Niki’s works, possess an unbridled creativity that hums with the very energy of life. Through unpublished stills and recent footage shot in Europe, America, and Japan, this documentary recalls the life and legacy of the multidisciplinary artist, whose portraits and artworks japanese director Michiko Matsumoto photographed from 1981. It introduces in intimate detail such masterworks as the Tarot Garden in Tuscany, Italy, a vast collection of large-scale works more than 20 years in the making.

This documentary follows the path of musician Kazuhiko Kato, who has created many masterpieces that remain in the history of Japanese pop music. Kazuhiko Kato, affectionately known as "Tonovan," influenced many people with his musicality that was ahead of its time, such as "The Folk Crusaders" and "Sadistic Mika Band." The documentary introduces the behind-the-scenes story of the formation of The Folk Crusaders, who created Japan's first million-selling hit, rare footage of the Sadistic Mika Band's overseas performances and recording scenes as they made their way around the world, and hidden anecdotes about the "Europe Trilogy," which is said to be a monumental work of Japanese pop music. In addition, a new recording of the timeless classic "Ano Subarashii Ai wo Mouichido" is made, and the song's evolution by musicians of various genres is shown. In Boulogne, Buenos Aires, a 200-plus-year-old Japanese Minka (民家; literally translated as “house of the people”) stands as the oldest dwelling in Argentina. La Casa de Japón, a residence which also functions as a museum, contains one of the largest historical Japanese craft collections outside Japan. The Minka itself was dismantled and transported 20,000 km from the mountains of Fukui in Japan, via Nagoya, to Buenos Aires in the 1980s. More than two decades later, after years of careful planning, research and restoration, the museum opened its doors to the public in 2006.

Recording of Tokyo Dome performances held by COMPLEX for the recovery and reconstruction of the Noto Peninsula earthquake in Reiwa 6. Koji Yoshikawa and Torayasu Nubukuro's legendary unit COMPLEX's charity concert was held at Tokyo Dome for two days on May 15 and 16, 2024. A total of 100,000 people attended the two-day event. A complete recording of a live performance held under the banner of "Japan Isshin" for the purpose of supporting the recovery and reconstruction of the "Noto Peninsula Earthquake in Reiwa 6" that occurred on January 1, 2024. In addition, a LIVE CD containing all the songs is also included.
