Kameleoni - The Beatles of Former Yugoslavia

A musical-documentary film about five high school students from Koper who drove Yugoslavia crazy in the late 1960s. Despite a handful of their own original compositions, they filled halls and football stadiums with more than 10,000 visitors. The Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Center and the Tivoli Hall were opened in Ljubljana. They laid the foundations of the Yugoslav music industry. The Kameleoni pulled back the Yugoslav Iron Curtain and helped the entire generation break free from the shackles of ideological and cultural post-war monumentalism.

Lord's Summer

Peasant summer from early spring to late autumn. Today there are no peasant farms in the Voronezh steppes for a long time, the collective farms are a thing of the past, and the various firms created in their place, the land was bought up by huge holdings. Others today are tractor drivers, those who are lucky with work. Other news on the radios, the Donbass is very close, and in that summer of 2015 there were battles going on there. But summer is still a whole life that still needs to be lived.

Desempacando: Género, Migración y Violencia

Through the stories of women who travel undocumented to Puerto Rico, we learn about the reality of that trip in "yola" and the abuse, violence, racism and xenophobia that they must face to try to achieve their dream of a better life and send money to Dominican Republic for their families. In a study carried out by the Beatriz Lassalle Graduate School of Social Work of the University of Puerto Rico with the Center for Dominican Women, a sample of 900 women showed that 97% of said population are victims of emotional violence, 81% of physical abuse and 78% sexual abuse. Despite multiple violence, being victims of a system that oppresses them for being undocumented immigrants, women, Dominicans, and black, the narratives contain the stubbornness to live fully and to ensure a better future for themselves, their children and their children and the communities to which they belong in their countries of origin and in Puerto Rico.

Rumah Api. Story Of

Rumah Api is an alternative space in Kuala Lumpur, which is dedicated to spreading the DIY punk ethos of non-conformity and counterculture in its area. It exists by putting into practice the broader societal values of self-organization, solidarity and people working together to build stronger communities. Unfortunately, despite their long and exhausting struggles, the house was eventually demolished due to controversial SUKE highway construction. It took 2 years for me to finished this short documentary project. Intentionally make it a short one and raw. I don't want to make it long and show a typical squat video of gig and stuff. Let other team and people make a long one. But I do hope you enjoy this video.

The Harvest

Georgia, a land known for its wine, is nowadays the third largest exporter of bitcoins in the world. A country that not long ago suffered daily power outages is engaged in a highly technological form of capitalism. What's more, much of this activity is concentrated in the rural, wine-growing region of Kakheti. In the countryside, cows graze amidst internet towers and are killed by machines; drones fly over vineyards; horse-drawn carriages travel on unpaved roads where electricity poles are being repaired and labour is performed by computers. The boundary between the natural and virtual is slowly being eradicated.

Hilos de sororidad

The tale of the project 'Yarn against sexist violence'. From the origins of the Harituz association in Astigarraga (Basque Country) and guided by its protagonists, it describes the meetings, stories, actions and voyages at home and abroad. In this project, knitting is the vehicle which unites very different women, who become knitters in the fight, and who stand up to sexist violence from sisterhood. The Yarn, an enormous collective bow in progress, which is already more than 6 km long, is a space of symbolisation, where every stretch represents a life taken by sexist violence.

Where Did Ramses Go?

In a certain moment, after the revolution that burst in Egypt in 2011 demanding the fall of Mubarak the man on top of the authority back then, Amr Bayoumi, the director, remembers that he documented the journey of the statue of Ramses II with his personal camera in 2006. The journey was from the Ramses square, one of the largest squares in Cairo, to his new place on the grand Egyptian Museum. It was the biggest transfer process Cairo streets ever witnessed, a journey that took over 12 hours in the charming Cairo atmosphere. Amr is inspired by this journey to tell the story of the relation between the authority and the people, and his personal relation with his father who was a symbol of superior authority in his youth.
