Tevere Corsaro

In contemporary Rome, amidst the concrete-besieged countryside and the hidden banks of the Tiber, the destinies of Sven, a Norwegian cycling activist and Pasolini enthusiast; Giulia, a young farmer defending her land from real estate speculation; and Mario, a policeman with a heart of gold, intertwine in the struggle to create the Pasolini Trail along the river, from Rome to the sea. Thwarted by powerful landowners, mediocre politicians, and an insensitive bureaucracy, these unlikely allies fight for a utopia of nature and community, in a battle that reflects the plight of the contemporary West. Is theirs a hopeless struggle, or can they still rewrite their own destiny?

Post Criminal Case

In 2000, Susana de Sousa Dias made Criminal Case 141/53, about the sisters Isaura Borges Coelho and Hortênsia Campos Lima, who resisted a 1950s’ Portuguese law that prohibited nurses from marrying. Supported by a montage of archival material, the film told their story, which was shaped by the dictatorship under Salazar. Now, a quarter of a century later, De Sousa Dias returns with a sequel that questions and reflects on her earlier film. She describes how she first encountered the archive material that led her to the sisters’ story in the early 1990s.

Killing Time: The Science of Boredom

Repetition is ever-present, life seems to lack meaning, and one feels insignificant. Apathy, melancholy, exhaustion—the same concept under different names. Boredom is a spectrum on which everyone has found themselves at some point. In everyday moments, such as folding laundry, taking a bus, or performing work that has lost its purpose, it becomes a silent companion. The film explores boredom, its causes, and how people cope to avoid frustration and maintain mental balance.
