Imbroda, el legado del maestro

Biopic of Javier Imbroda, coach and teacher, who transformed people and cities. The story of an overwhelming personality who made everyone win. Imbroda made it possible to take his school team to the national elite, the creation of Unicaja, the Lithuanian revenge or the genesis of 'the family', the best Spanish team in history. The documentary questions the conception of superficial and fleeting success compared to the human and profound triumph that Javier Imbroda represented in all its facets.

Ground Up

In an era where many climbers are using fixed ropes and sport-climbing tactics to free El Cap, climbers like Amity Warme and Brent Barghahn are choosing to keep adventure alive. Going ground up, Amity and Brent pull off a free ascent of the Pineapple Express variation of El Niño (5.13b/c) over eight days, battling variable conditions, friable rock, and, for Amity, a serious finger injury. This documentary captures the tenacity, grit, and performance mindset required to go ground up on a free ascent of El Capitan.

One Mind, One Heart

Larissa Behrendt uncovers the extraordinary story of the three landmark Yirrkala Bark petitions that sparked the flame toward recognition of Aboriginal rights. In August 1963, two bark petitions—traditional documents prepared and signed by Yolngu people—were sent to the Australian Parliament and became the first documented recognition of Indigenous people in Australian law. When a fourth bark petition is found in Derby, Western Australia, in 2022, the community begins the ceremony of guiding its journey back to Yolngu Country. The repatriation provides the opportunity to track the long political campaign—through petition, song, dance, and campaigning—to keep culture strong and to have a voice for country.

Stepping Into the Unknown: Films from the Bob Dylan Center

The Bob Dylan Center presents a far-ranging one-hour program of short films and videos from the Bob Dylan Archive featuring rare and previously unreleased clips of Dylan on stage and in the studio. Spanning decades and musical styles, this compendium of clips highlights Dylan’s arrival in Greenwich Village and his early protest songs. Selections include Dylan’s first film soundtrack for 1961’s “Autopsy on Operation Abolition;” a devastating solo rendition of “Ballad of Hollis Brown;” a rollicking 1976 take on “I Pity the Poor Immigrant” with Joan Baez; a gospel-infused “Blowin’ in the Wind;” a loving tribute to Tony Bennett; a glimpse into the Archive’s film restoration project with never-before-seen footage of “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue” from 1966; and, in keeping with the season, a look at the making of Dylan’s yuletide album “Christmas in the Heart.”

Szomszédok

The Székely panorama has always been bearish, but recently it has become even more bearish. Even though Robi and Uncle Géza don't know each other, they are united by the fact that they were both attacked by bears. The bear issue, so controversial in Romania, is an ongoing mystery because of the vested interests behind it. One thing we can see from afar is that the hunting associations and green organisations are far from in harmony, while the pistabachi sometimes have to fight the bear against their will. Behind the scenes, we fall.

Through the Graves the Wind Is Blowing

If there is anyone who embodies the current state of life in Croatia, it is the police detective Ivan Peric. The son of a fisherman, he became a detective as a way of avoiding working in the only really prospering industry of present-day Croatia – tourism. Now his life is consumed by trying to solve a series of essentially unsolvable murders of tourists. Because the tourists are so widely despised, no one will help Ivan. Evidence disappears into the labyrinth of bureaucracy. He is humiliated in public and online. In the local press, his boss even labels him an “uhljeb”, the Croatian slur for a “lazy bureaucratic parasite”. All of this takes place in the city of Split, where the breakup of Yugoslavia has left its mark.
