When You Are Close to Me

A world of silence and darkness. A world of things unspoken and unseen. It is the world in which deaf, blind and deafblind people spend their entire lives. But it is also a world full of fantasy, joy and an excited sensitivity towards outside stimuli, touches and vibration. The immense power of physical contact with and the closeness of caregivers is an energizing element in this humanist documentary exploration of the world of people with vision and hearing impairments. The filmmaker patiently observes the lives of patients living in the specific conditions of institutional existence and opens up her observations to a wide range of possible forms of communication and sharing, while also showing an understanding for the hard work and absolute exhaustion of the caregiving personnel.

A Visual Storm

A portrait of avant-garde artist Aurelio Caminati (1922–2008), whose prophetic vision spanned six turbulent decades through a determined compulsion to create.  Set against the baroque intensity of Ireland's wild Atlantic coast and local heritage, the film fuses the raw power of nature with this resistance master's defiant, ever-evolving body of work.  Aurelio Caminati channels nature's fury – declaring nature as the ultimate power source. Rejecting artistic and ideological conformity, Caminati plunges the viewer into subconscious undercurrents arising when storm-force nature trumps conventional ideologies.

And then the Liberation: the arrival of the Allies, the joy, the dances and finally it's time to get married.

Langobardi - Alboino e Romans

This movie is an innovative docufilm about history of Lombard with an interaction between cinema and historical disclosure. It is focused on the story of Alboin, the first Lombard king arrived in Italy with his population and the foundation of the village of Romans. This village was an important military garrison of the Duchy of Friul and also it is important for the archeological finds (one of the largest Italian Lombard necropolises). On 551 A.D. after a great victory against Gepids, the figure of Alboin as hero strongly emerged. Years of glory and deeds followed him until his fateful fate in Verona on 572 A.D., when he was killed after only few years of reigns, then his myth was born. In the midst of the events of this legendary king will be shown, innovative images and strong emotional impact, where you will see how the Lombard people lived in Romans, an important crossroad of the Friulian plain where men and women developed a village that still exists.

Naviganti

‘Starving artists', fragile beings who clearly sensed they were of no use to society and tried to make it anyway. When things got going again in August 2020, after months of lockdown and seclusion, they were the only ones who couldn't go back to business as usual. Over a year and a half, in and out of lockdowns, Donpasta shares his daily life, entwined with that of a set designer out of work, a musician with no gigs, and a farmer turned poet. Survivors, in a word, who just needed a good idea to stop treading water, and this is how they became the Naviganti.

Fotografia italiana - Maurizio Galimberti

Maurizio Galimberti is one of the great authors of Italian photography. He works solely in Polaroid and is able to instantly connect with his subject, whether he is a Hollywood actor or an element of the urban landscape. In this film we follow Galimberti at work, as he talks about himself through his urban visions on the streets of New York and Milan, the mosaic portraits of actors and directors at the Venice Film Festival, the research on Dadaist manipulation and irreverence of its ready-mades.
