Constellations Part 1: Projections

Projection is of primary interest in Constellations, which begins at a defunct 1960’s planetarium in Canada named after Queen Elizabeth II. A planetarium is, put simply, a domed surface upon which to project a representation of the cosmos for entertainment and educational purposes. In its exploration of projection as a both a delivery system for moving images and psychological process of imposing the internal on the external, Constellations follows the history of film projection, visiting La Ciotât, where the Lumière Brothers first projected their films, as well as the Cannes red carpet where tourists pose and imitate the “stars,” and finally, virtual spaces where individual identities and desires play out in ways that are both infinitesimal and infinite

The Same Blood

After her sister's murder, Norma Mesino takes the helm of the Peasant Organization of the Southern Sierra, a group that for 30 years has been fighting for the human rights of peasants living in one of the poorest and most violent regions of Mexico. She carries the weight of a surname synonymous with struggle and resistance, marked by the Aguas Blancas massacre, imprisonments, assassinations, and disappearances, while in her daily life she continues her almost invisible work to overcome the atmosphere of hostility and impunity that surrounds her, thus fulfilling what seems to be her manifest destiny.

Square of the Unseen

In the heart of Athens, Omonia Square stands as a paradox within the city’s rapid gentrification. While neighbourhoods are rebranded and beautified, Omonia remains suspended in time a raw, fractured landscape that the metropolis chooses to ignore. Square of the Unseen moves through this hidden world, where lives on the margins leave their silent marks: handwritten passages etched onto urban surfaces, whispers of despair, resilience, and fleeting hope. Through these words and images of a city in constant transit, the film reveals an Athens of shadows, ghosts, and truths rarely seen.

A young Chinese photographer and her partner VT live through the wildest year of their lives, moving between the shadows of the pandemic and trancelike underground parties, chasing a form of freedom that feels almost out of reach. To escape a world where justice is unattainable, the two make a difficult and desperate decision. Their route stretches from Asia to South America and then northward—through Thailand, Dubai, Ecuador, and Colombia, and across the Darién Gap. In Mexico, they ride 8,500 kilometers on motorcycles, confronting endless checkpoints, corrupt police, and armed groups. On May 5, 2024, they finally cross the border—an arduously won moment of “temporary success,” followed immediately by forced return. Everything resets to zero.

Le chemin de la liberté

Four years ago, Putin’s Russia launched a large-scale imperialist war of aggression against Ukraine. The Ukrainian people then rose up in resistance and have been multiplying experiments in self-organization to confront this aggression. Many feminist, environmentalist, unionist, anarchist, and libertarian activists have joined the active and armed resistance. Their collective embodies an anti-authoritarian Ukraine that echoes the experience a century ago of the anarchist Nestor Makhno, inspiring their struggle against the Russian occupation forces’ attempts to block their path to freedom.

Regarding Art,

See you in a dream. Feathers tucked to your sides. There in a tree, hazel eyes flicker in my direction. See your lights parked outside. Caught up in the race with time. Lights blinking. Feelings pour out into an open sea. Into more of me. Dancing like a dream. I trust, and I know it’s never over. Rain pours again. It’s getting hard to be someone. Hold my bags, even if they won’t understand. Less is plenty, more is many. Isn’t that what Yeat said? Whispered into echoes through hollow paper chambers in my short term memory. If not for you, I’d never blur my vision again. And in the night I’ll remember the day. Whispering a lovely thank you into the darkness.

Shame And Pride In History

This film explores the issues of pride and shame in the national histories of states, addressing topics that spark debate in contemporary societies, such as colonial legacies, wars, religious conflicts, and economic exploitation. As demands for reparations grow in number and intensity, monuments are toppled, and moral values are reassessed, the need to distinguish between personal and collective responsibility becomes increasingly important, as does the need to address whether progress can ever justify atrocities.

Snowfall in New York

Snowfall in New York is a cinematic short film documenting winter in New York City in 2025 and early 2026, observed through street photography and moving images. Captured across one snowstorm this season, along with years prior, the film moves through both day and night, allowing each storm to unfold in its own rhythm. The quiet of winter days. The weight of falling snow after dark. The subtle shift in energy that winter brings to the city. This film observes the daily life that continues in the cold. People moving through their routines and streets softened by snowfall. Winter can slow the city down, but it never stops it.
