Twenty Minutes in Milan

An amateur documentary made as a tribute to the Milanese city. The camera lingers on its most characteristic sites, particularly along the Navigli (the Martesana). It shows elements that today have almost entirely vanished from the modern urban landscape: people washing clothes in the canal, sheep grazing in fields that had briefly escaped the construction of apartment blocks, and a hunting outing that begins on foot from the city—still visibly connected, along its edges, to the rural world.

In 2022, she accepted and dismantled the role of First Lady, refusing to be a mere symbolic figure, shaking up Latin American society and inspiring new generations. Nos pas brûlent la nuit

On the French-Italian border, Nina, Lily, Sasha, Malick and other young people come from all over Europe to live in abandoned olive groves in the hinterland’s mountains. They are part of a collective to support migrants who seek to cross this border. Living in huts, they joyfully experiment in solidarity, with other forms of social organisation on the fringe of capitalist society. In the evening, next to a fire, migrants and activists tell each other stories and share their dreams. Their visions of the world confront each other. As the seasons go by, the complexity of these encounters, the dissensions within the group, and activist burn-out test their utopias.

Tutti Fratelli. L'Utopia di Henry Dunant

Tutti Fratelli. L'Utopia di Henry Dunant, is dedicated to the figure and untiring activity of the Geneva philanthropist who sacrificed his family fortunes to the idea of the Red Cross [fallen to poverty, he lived off a modest income which only just allowed him survival]. Cima, in telling the story of the founder of the Red Cross, resorts to original documents, photographs, and images shot in the places where Dunant lived (from Geneva to Solferino and San Martino, from Marseille to Zurich, to Provence, to Tunisia). There comes to light an enthralling story which “tells”, thanks to a “clear and shared exploration of his existential itinerary”, the greatness of a man who was wrongly banished in the shade. Appunti del passaggio

Appunti del passaggio uncovers a counter-history of the “economic miracle” as it traces the trajectories of people on the move between southern Italy and Switzerland at the turn of the 1960s–1970s. Drawing on their accounts, these notes on the passage expose the harsh labor conditions imposed on migrant workers and how they faced widespread discrimination and xenophobia. In a rationale of biopolitical control, their bodies were subjected to intrusive health inspections at the border; officially justified by fears of contagion, “sanitary risks” became a de facto strategy for controlling immigration and legitimizing borders and their violence.
