Художественная одиссея. Ольга Мичи

A film about the incredible and eventful creative path of photographer and artist Olga Michi, as well as about the art group "GROM" that she created. Olga Michi visited the most remote corners of the world, constantly testing her strength: she lived with African tribes, looked for cities lost in the South American jungle, photographed white sharks and swam in a river teeming with crocodiles. But at some point, she felt cramped within the framework of reportage photography, she wanted not only to reflect the world around her - she wanted to create her own.

Архитектор

A film about the outstanding Russian architect Andrey Sumatokhin, one of the few contemporary architects working in the post-constructivism style. In addition to architecture, he developed a whole philosophy of life, which he called "Near Science". The film tells not only about the art of architecture, but also about the very concept of "Home" both material and spiritual, about building your "near space", which includes almost all elements of human life and helps a person not to lose himself in the frantic pace of modern life.

Мои медведи. Гималайцы

The film's hero is Sergey Kolchin, a zoologist and specialist in large predatory mammals of the Far East, who has been involved in the rehabilitation of orphaned bear cubs in various years. He returned cubs that had lost their mothers due to human error to the wild. Long months of living in the forest in the company of bear cubs allowed Sergey to learn many previously unknown facts about the Himalayan bear. The unique video material he collected formed the basis for the film "My Bears. Himalayans". This unusual animal lives in the mountain forests of South, Southeast and East Asia. The northernmost and largest of its seven subspecies, the Ussuri bear, lives in the south of the Russian Far East. Its build and ability to lead a semi-arboreal lifestyle help it survive in the same territory as the tiger and brown bear. The Himalayan bear is a poorly studied and vulnerable species, whose fate personifies the difficult fate of cedar-broadleaf forests.

Rodents

Due to a record release of water from the Iriklinsky Reservoir, the provincial Russian city of Orsk found itself in a flood zone. Despite assurances from the city’s mayor, Vasily Kozupitsa, on the evening of April 5, a breach occurred in an earthen dam that had been protecting the Old Town district from the rising waters. The floodwaters rushed toward the residential sector, marking the beginning of a natural disaster that left over 6,000 homes submerged. Houses flooded up to their rooftops; the wailing of sirens and nighttime evacuations; a shortage of drinking water; looting; negligence and hypocrisy from the authorities; alongside the rescue of pets and the aid provided by volunteers—through the eyes of witnesses and those affected by the flood, the film chronicles several days in the life of a city facing nature's wrath. Who is to blame?

Consolidated Group

Documentary films have the amazing ability to present reality, even when the authors wanted to create propaganda. This was the case with “Triumph of the Will of Leni Riefenstahl”, and with less talented documentarians who filmed the Stalinist trials and the “happy life” of the Gulag. We don’t think that this film has exaggerated claims... But this film is certainly a valuable video evidence of the tragedy that came with the war in Ukraine. Below we publish the author's summary of the film:

From the Life of One Village

A film about a village with the poetic name Svetlana, which is located two hours from St. Petersburg. It was built by volunteers more than twenty-five years ago for people with disabilities of physical and mental development, doomed to special psycho-neurological boarding schools of a closed type. Many of them, before they got to the village, could not connect even two words, they sat at home, within four walls. Svetlana avoids the words "disabled" or "sick", preferring to call such people "guys". They do not do miraculous healings and special trainings here, the diagnosis is not important here. Here the children simply create the conditions for a normal human life. Healthy and sick communicate on an equal footing, work together, put on performances and run a joint household. Disabled people do not feel sick and flawed. Everyone is equal here. The shooting of the film lasted about 13 years.

The Winter in the Summer Zolotitsa

Letnyaya Zolotitsa is a village situated along the shores of the White Sea, approximately 180 kilometers from Arkhangelsk. During winter, access to the village is limited to snowmobiles or, alternatively, by air using an old An-2 aircraft. Ilya Ikonnikov, the head of the Letnyaya Zolotitsa landing site, assumes multiple roles, serving as an air traffic controller, airfield watchman, cashier, loader, and stoker—all in one. He travels to the village from his hometown of Onega as part of his duty. Ikonnikov, a former journalist and poet, finds less recognition and congratulations in his aviation work than the personalized epitaphs he crafts. However, he considers the "An-2 service" a calling passed down from his grandfather and father.
