Samuel’s home port is in Gaspesia, eastern Quebec, in Saint-Maxime-du-Mont-Louis. It is winter and the fishing boats have been put into dry dock. Samuel makes the most of this respite to implement his career plan. He wants to buy the boat from Clément, who is retiring, and become his own captain. Samuel is ambitious and passionate. Despite the obvious difficulties represented by such a project today, the strengthening of regulations, quotas and diminishing resources, he persists with his idea. Few young people in his village have chosen to stay like him and even fewer have chosen to take over a traditional activity that is jeopardised these days.

Mara V

This film takes the form of an investigation into the life and work of the sculptor Vaiere Mara, born in 1936 in Rurutu, in the Austral Islands (French Polynesia) and died in Arue in 2005. Mara sculpted wood, coral and stone and his production was remarkable and noticed from the 1960s. Many local personalities placed orders with the man whom some considered the first contemporary Polynesian artist. The film traces the director's journey in search of Mara's works, scattered across islands and continents, and the personal story of this exceptional artist. Combining testimonies from those close to him, reconstructions of the founding moments of his career and documentation of the works found, this film appears as an investigation that is at once human, artistic and detective... which allows us to reconstruct the context of Vaiere Mara's creation.

The Phantom of Spandau

Idriss Gabel and Marie Calvas are the grandson and granddaughter of Rudolf Hess's last chaplain in Berlin-Spandau prison. Hess (1894-1987), a fanatical anti-Semite, was Adolf Hitler's deputy in Nazi Germany and personally participated in the formulation of the Nuremberg Race Laws. As a French military chaplain, Charles Gabel was the only person authorized to speak with Hess in private for almost ten years. In this documentary, his grandchildren ask: What kind of relationship did their grandfather have with this member of the Nazi leadership? Hess was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1946 as part of the Nuremberg Trials of major war criminals. He served his sentence throughout the Cold War as the sole inmate of the huge Spandau Prison. In 1987, at the age of 93, he took his own life.

I, Robot

In May 2018 European Union introduces a range of laws that regulate the protection of EU citizens personal data (General Data Protection Regulation). The law restricts the citizens rights to share, save and use the information about people without their permission. Ukraine is on the road to European integration and adopting its laws and regulations. This street incident demonstrates the insecurity of Ukrainian citizens due to the lack of such rules. At the same time it provides an opportunity to comprehend filming/recording a person in public space. The film refers to Isaac Asimov's thoughts about whether humanoid robots will be friendly to others.

Turned Tiny: The Business of Tiny Homes

Tiny homes are built on 8.5ft by 24-30ft trailer beds. In fact, Dylan Kerchner, a local from York, Pennsylvania, built one himself. Tiny homes are currently banned from being livable in the county due to the minimum habitable space list is less than 700 sq. ft. Luckily, right next to York County lies Lancaster County, which welcomes tiny homes into its county. In part of this, Abby Hobson and Ryan met and created a tiny house community Tiny Estates in Elizabethown (located in Lancaster County). Tiny Estates has been open since April 2018 and is the largest tiny house community in the nation with 28 tiny homes on wheels and can hold up to 100. “The market is telling us that this is only going to increase.” mentions Marcus Stoltzfus, co-owner of Liberation Tiny Homes, a builder of tiny houses in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The business of tiny homes is growing along with the love for living a simpler life. “Home is where the heart is.” - Pliny the Elders.

A monologue film in the first person. Alexander Kalyagin talks about his childhood, about entering a medical school and working as a paramedic at an ambulance station, about working with Lyubimov in the Taganka Theater and about the decision to leave. Having survived the early death of his first wife, the artist raised a young daughter on his own. It is precisely in these tragic days that fame comes to him, he acts in his first star role, in the picture of V. Titov “Hello, I am your aunt!”. The film biography of Alexander Kalyagin is about sixty films. His most vivid role is Platonov in Nikita Mikhalkov’s film “Unfinished Piece for a Mechanical Piano.” No less significant was the theatrical history of the actor. Above Us Only Sky

How do you start an investigation into chance? By a late journey. The narrator tells how the eruption of the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjalla stopped the plane he should have taken for Prague in 2010 from taking off. Meditating on the powerful images of the “Earth’s anger”, Kleinjan remembered another flight that never arrived: the aircraft crashed in northern Czechoslovakia in 1972, before reaching Belgrade. Only a Serbian stewardess miraculously survived the crash. She was included in the Guinness Book of Records and got to meet the Beatles, when John Lennon was considered like “Lenin” by the young Czech anti-communists.

Frozen Secrets

Ten percent of the earth's surface is covered by glaciers. While these frozen peaks are the planet's largest reservoirs of drinking water, they are also home to precious relics of the distant past. Like tree rings, each layer of ice provides information on past years, such as temperature and precipitation. With global warming - an environmental concern but a boon for glaciologists - these treasures are gradually being released. In 1991, for example, hikers in Italy discovered a corpse lying at an altitude of over 3,000 metres.
