Healers, Midwives, Witches

Healers, Midwives, Witches is an experimental documentary that traces connections between village midwives and the figures of healers and witches found in historical archives. Moving between archival engravings from London and intimate conversations with the filmmaker’s grandmother and great-aunt, former midwives in rural southeast Turkey, the film brings different times and places into dialogue. Through archives and oral histories, recurring gestures, rituals, and ways of care reappear across centuries. The film approaches the witch not as a myth, but as a figure shaped by fear, control, and misogyny, carried forward through women’s memory, labour, and survival.

the great image has no form - notes on the creation of identifying symbols

Víctor is thinking about his friend Mario. Mario was a little nervous in the summer of 2024. He was falling in love with Sara, a girl he met on twitter around that time, and he's an overthinker... Everytime he started overthinking stuff, he went outside to find some calm and solace in nature. For years, Mario and Víctor have been talking about their concerns with the limitations and contradictions in the relationship between representation and identity. But lately, this conversation has tilted especially towards the problematics in the representation of landscapes and nature. They always try looking beyond the western capitalist framework to find new possibilities, forever in search of that formless great image. However, Mario's too in love to concentrate on these topics like he usually does... all he can think of is how much he wishes Sara was there with him: to look at that sunset together, to be together (in) that same space and time.

Long Live the Factory!

“The Factory Must Not Stop!” is a documentary film about a former giant of the Yugoslav chemical industry and the memories of its workers. A discovered archive — tens of thousands of slides and negatives — becomes an entry point into a world that no longer exists. Through images and testimonies, a representative of a new generation, Aleksandar Kostić, explores the boundary between lived experience and collective nostalgia, trying to understand why the factory continues to live on in people’s stories — as myth, trauma, or a lost ideal.

Wounded Edges

In July 2022, a forest fire broke out on Monte Gambarogno in Ticino, Switzerland. Wound Edges is my emotional response to this landscape, filmed on 16mm and hand-developed with the forest’s ashes. Each frame carries physical traces of the land’s memory, blending destruction with resilience. The soundscape—field recordings, burned wood, contact microphones on trees, and the presence of fire—echoes the forest’s wounds. A reflection on human impact, impermanence, and the haunting beauty of transformation.

The Bastion of the Exclusion Zone

The documentary explores how nature has acted as a barrier against radiation and how the ecosystem of the Chornobyl exclusion zone has changed 40 years after the accident, with the zone itself becoming an international research site. One of the film’s focal points is the wetlands, which were drained in the 1950s and 1960s and now pose an increased fire hazard and risk of radionuclide dispersion, as well as facilitating enemy infiltration into these territories.
