Being denounced on international news, shamed in national tabloids, and slandered on social media is all just part of the job for Dermot Hudson, Official Delegate and Chairman of the Korean Friendship Association in the United Kingdom. As the threat of war loomed between Trump & the West and Kim Jong Un & North Korea, KFA set out to defend the independence and socialist construction of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, to fight the “mirror of lies,” and to promote its Juche Ideology, the official state ideology of North Korea. For the first time, Dermot allowed a film crew into his work and home in order to tell his story. This short documentary delves into Hudson's life to capture a portrait of a man alienated by his own nation and unafraid to speak out against the status quo, even at the peak of media and public hysteria.

We live with stories. And it's hard for us to give up on these stories, which provide us our identity, a way of understanding ourselves. Reflections from three successive generations are dusted off and presented as remaining fragments. An attempt to archive thoughts on familial history, narrative traditions, human perception and "the story" from known and unknown sources. "There is history behind it and the history becomes the story and the story becomes the pattern and the pattern becomes rigidity."
Memoirs
At the end of the Cold War, something new arised that should influence an entire generation and express their attitude to life. It started with an idea in the underground subculture of Berlin shortly before the fall of the Wall. With the motto "Peace, Joy, Pancakes", Club DJ Dr. Motte and companions launched the first Love Parade. A procession registered as political demonstration with only 150 colorfully dressed people dancing to house and techno. What started out small developed over the years into the largest party on the planet with visitors from all over the world. In 1999, 1.5 million people took part. With the help of interviews with important organizers and contemporary witnesses, the documentary reflects the history of the Love Parade, but also illuminates the dark side of how commerce and money business increasingly destroyed the real spirit, long before the emigration to other cities and the Love Parade disaster of Duisburg in 2010, which caused an era to end in deep grief.
