Gena Chudnevich was born in prison. He returned there as a teenager from the orphanage. And a miracle happened: a semi-literate guy, who did not even graduate from school, almost single-handedly built a huge wooden church according to all the canons of ancient Russian architecture! That’s how the former convict became hieromonk Gerontius. Having led a team of the similar poor fellows, he began to restore ancient monasteries - monuments of architecture. But when a misfortune happened to Father Gerontius, the official church cruelly “thanked” him for his talent and selfless devotion.

Inspired by the ideas of the outstanding Russian thinker of the beginning of the last century Alexander Vasilyevich Chayanov the film crew sets off in search of new "rural utopias", modern models of rural development. Mikhail Petrovich Zorin is the last surviving signalman of the first composition of the legendary 330th Infantry Regiment (86th Infantry Division), who heroically fought on the Nevsky Piglet during the defense of Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War. In April 1942, in the course of a powerful onslaught of the German group, almost all the soldiers who were at that time in the regiment's location were killed, and the wounded were taken prisoner. Mikhail Zorin survived thanks to a unique combination of circumstances.

A friendsbook was like Facebook during the Soviet times. Many had one. Russian kids called it a Form. Classmates were asked to write in it and say what they thought love is, what they wanted to be when they grow up, what their favourite food was. It was mostly girls who had friendsbooks, of course. Twenty-five years later, Alyona Surzhikova browses her 6th grade friendsbook and decides to go and find her then classmates to ask whether their dreams have come true. She travels to Russia and Germany and even Cambodia and puts together a thought-provoking aggregate portrait of the Russian generation that grew up during the restoration of Estonia’s independence. Many of them have left Estonia by now, with half of Surzhikova’s classmates living abroad. Why did they do that? What do they think about Estonia? And what would they write into the Form now?
