Bixiga: Caminhos Para Saracura

During work on the orange subway line in the Bixiga neighborhood, in the city of São Paulo, archaeological sites were found with great potential to reveal more evidence about the black presence in this region. Mainly, due to the fact that this occupation is repeatedly erased to the detriment of the memories that emphasize the Italian community that also started to live in the neighborhood from the last years of the 19th century. The documentary seeks to understand what is at stake with the subway works and what challenges the neighborhood will face in the coming years.

Fugue

In the heart of the Peruvian Amazon, Saor, a young androgynous Indian, carries a coffin. He is taking Valentina, his lover, back to her native village to bury her. When Valentina left this village years ago, before becoming a transgender singer in a faraway city, people here knew her as Pol. Valentina's past and death remain an enigma. Yet bit by bit, through his encounters with the people of the village, Saor begins to perceive what connected them to Pol. Sensitive to the world around him, Saor, like a Shaman, enters their memories. Saor starts to understand that, like all homosexuals persecuted by Shining Path terrorists, Pol lived in terror. In the village cemetery, between rage and bitterness, Saor attends the burial of Valentina's body. A ceremony that is both a burial and an exhumation.

The most suffocating is the awareness that nothing is happening. All the veins are drying without the blood running through them. I came to Barão Geraldo because things happen here. Here people love as much as dolls hang themselves and chicken are slaughtered to death. Would I still hang dolls and burn memories in the next 18 years? It astonishes me how less and less I do not care for things that are not my extension. Being my own destruction is the only way. Intimacy is a farewell. All I see is a lot water and all the colors are not enough. All forms of comunication are not enough for a lot of water.

A documentary that observes the daily lives of three LGBTQ+ families through the perspectives of their children. With an intimate and attentive camera, it explores family life as it is shaped by care, affection, listening, and presence rather than by fixed structures or traditional models. Small gestures, shared moments, and ordinary routines reveal how bonds are formed and sustained within homes built on chosen kinship and mutual respect. By focusing on proximity and tenderness, the film gently dismantles normative ideas of family, offering a sensitive portrait of domestic spaces where love, identity, and belonging are continuously negotiated and reaffirmed.
