The Survivors

Three suicides leave long-lasting gaps among a group of classmates, many years after their graduation. Director and former classmate Andres Veiel organizes a reunion in search of clues. Despite huge differences in their personalities, the course their lives took and how each died, the three young men are indicative of life in a southwestern German small town in the 1980s. Pressure and career expectations from parents clash with adolescent desire for creative or sexual fulfillment. Even years later, the unspoken reflects the unspeakable that plagues the bereaved.

Der Tunnel

The Loiblpass is situated in the mountains between Austria and Yugoslavia: 12km from the village of Neumarktl and 10km from Ferlach in Carinthia. Between 1943 and 1945, political prisoners from the Mauthausen concentration camp drove a tunnel into the mountains at an altitude of 1200m. To this day, two people have been linked by this tunnel: Janko Tisler was an engineer in charge of the building site in 1944; today he lives in Krize, south of the tunnel. Dr. Sigbert Ramsauer, the SS doctor of the camp at the site then, at the age of 80 still practises in Klagenfurt. Janko Tisler fights against forgetting, Dr. Ramsauer wishes he were forgotten. The history of the tunnel has become theirs as well.

David Blaine: Magic Man

In Magic Man, Blaine is shown traveling across the country, entertaining unsuspecting pedestrians in New York City, Atlantic City, Dallas, San Francisco, Compton, and the Mojave Desert recorded by a small crew with handheld cameras. Jon Racherbaumer commented, "Make no mistake about it, the focus of this show, boys and girls, is not Blaine. It is really about theatrical proxemics; about the show-within-a-show and the spontaneous, visceral reactions of people being astonished."
