He searches for and gathers former colleagues and a teacher, in order to recreate the group's trajectories, to draw the profile of the country's metropolitan bourgeoisie. A Casa do Tom: Mundo, Monde, Mondo

Even the most loyal admirer of Tom Jobim, the most documented Brazilian artist throughout the world, cannot imagine the surprises he will encounter in this film. It contains previously unreleased pictures and images captured for 15 years by Ana Jobim, his wife, that show details of the life and work of Tom Jobim. Shot in New York, Rio de Janeiro and the family ranch in Poço Fundo, the film shows his intimacy with his children, the birth of important songs, parties at home with other musicians, and even a unusual Jobim in pajamas, in an “expedition” in the woods. “When someone visits the intimacy of a great artists, possibly the distance between him and the myth is felt to be smaller. For me it is the opposite; the distance becomes greater and I have more conscience of the myth”, says Ana.

Amazônia Oktoberfesta

A Brazilian development project, initiated during the military dictatorship in the 1970s, encouraged the “exploration” of northern Brazil by settlers from Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul. Based on a German-inspired festival held in Sinop, Mato Grosso, where an anonymous, fictional, and suspicious character wanders through forests and plantations, the narrative offers a free-form account of an immigration process that caused, and continues to cause, cultural, environmental, and political changes in a region once inhabited by diverse Indigenous peoples.

Aperana Street 52

In his film Rua Aperana 52 Júlio Bressane describes the invention of a landscape, the topology of a corner of Rio de Janeiro. The film consists of a series of photographs taken between 1909 and 1955 by, among others, Bressane's parents at and around the address used as a title. These are interlarded with scenes from films made between 1957 and 2005, bringing the total fictional time the film covers to almost a century; one hundred years in which the winding road featured in almost every shot structures the new landscape behind the Aperana, which means 'wrong road'. Rua Aperana 52 is autobiographical, as it is a landscape from Bressane's youth, but it is also not so; it is more a multi-subjective mythology of a place seen through all those films and photographs. Bressane refers to his editing as an intuitive form of thinking aimed at evoking moods which make the viewer the new witness of the fictional landscape. A fiction about a fiction,
