Great Escape at Dunkirk

As France fell to the German armies in May 1940, 400,000 Allied troops were trapped on the beaches of Dunkirk. Their annihilation seemed certain—a disaster that could have led to Britain’s surrender. But then, in a last-minute rescue, Royal Navy ships and a flotilla of tiny civilian boats evacuated hundreds of thousands of soldiers to safety across the Channel. A team of archaeologists and historians recovers fresh evidence of the courage, technical ingenuity, and brilliant planning that led to the operation’s success. With access to previously classified files recently released by the British government, they uncover the truth behind the myths of Dunkirk—notably, a claim that the Royal Air Force failed to protect the stranded men from the Luftwaffe’s constant bombing of the beaches. This film debunks the myths and highlights the essential role of RAF planes and pilots in reversing the desperate stakes that played out in the air above the beleaguered men.

It's Been Three Years

The main character of the film, Alexander Strizhenova, became famous in talk shows and tabloid media as the daughter of a Soviet actress, Natalya Strizhenova, who grew up without a father - but this is not mentioned in the film by Rastorguev. Sasha, beaten by life, when we meet her, lives in a cluttered and untidy village house somewhere in the Moscow Region with her husband, with whom they swear dirtyly in the presence of their young son Ilya. Sasha smokes, drinks and endlessly suffers from a lack of love and from the fact that no one can understand it. Three years later, the viewer again sees her life - in another place, with another man and with a new child, but in about the same circumstances.

The Mysteries of the Giants

When a huge meteorite crashed into the earth 66 million years ago and caused the disappearance of the dinosaurs, some of the planet’s tiniest species survived the cataclysm, and—against all odds—eventually became some of the greatest giants to ever roam the earth. From the poles of the planet to the belly of the equator, this documentary sheds new light on four giant animals that are still a great mystery to science today: the Titanoboa snake, the Megalodon shark, the giant rhinoceros and the giant sloth.

78 Revoluciones

Marcel Keoroglian, a public figure in Uruguay thanks to his works in carnival, television, radio and cinema, has at home eighteen records of the 1949 carnival that have never been heard. These records were recorded by José Goglian, an Armenian immigrant, who in the 1940s lived in Villa del Cerro (a Montevidean neighborhood made up of many immigrant groups) and who invited his neighbour carnival musicians to his apartment to record them with a phonograph. This documentary is focused on Marcel's passionate bond with the murga genre, as he writes the lyrics for a group that is preparing for the next carnival, while looking for a way to revive the music of these albums that awaited sixty-eight years to be heard.

The Great Saphir

This film is the story of several civic and individual initiatives which consists of collecting waste, at sea and on land, to preserve the environment. We start by portraying these committed characters with the personal initiative of Emmanuel Laurin, "The Great Saphir", who combines athletic achievement and environmental protection. During almost 14 days, between May 25 and June 8 in 2017, Manu swam 120 km of coastline while collecting macro-waste to raise public awareness of the critical state of pollution in the Mediterranean Sea. This film is a reflection of the evolution of environmental activism: after the denunciation, these new whistleblowers adopt a positive approach and take action. They prove to us every day that we are all able to do that.
