Tutto, tutto nello stesso istante

Collective manifesto by the members of C.C.I. It is a collective film, the result of an operation devoid of any aesthetic purpose: to verify the existence of any harmony between a fairly large group (twelve people) of members of the independent Cooperative. Someone, who had the idea, turned 60 meters of Ektachrome according to the moods –or discontent – of the moment and gave them to others to see. The others reacted, each with their own piece. It was then thought to call the film “circular letter”. It was not so simple and so quick: the operation, which started in June of ’68, ended in March of ’69.

Agnus Dei

Within the walls of the Monastery of Santa Cecilia in Trastevere, in the heart of Rome, a centuries-old tradition is renewed every year: in January, two newborn lambs, after being adorned and blessed, are entrusted to the care of one of the cloistered nuns. The woman cares for them with the tenderness of a mother, looking after them and feeding them. The presence of the animals has a specific purpose: with their wool, the nuns weave the pallium that the Pope wears on June 29, the solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul. In the Holy Year 2025, while the ritual is being performed, the Pope suddenly falls ill.

Traveling with Che Guevara

In 1952, Ernesto Guevara, then a medical student aged 23, and his friend Alberto Granado, a biologist of 29, began a long journey through the South American continent. During their tour, which began with an old motorcycle to continue after hitchhiking, they witnessed the harsh living conditions of the population of the countries they travelled. Guevara, soon to be known as Che, recorded his impressions in a diary. In 2002, the Brazilian director Walter Salles began shooting a film about that odyssey, "The Motorcycle Diaries". This documentary follows the making of that movie in detail, incorporating interviews with various participants.

St. Matthew Passion

Released a few months after the Italian The Passion According to St. Mathew, this Austrian film is, like the earlier effort, based on a theatre piece. But whereas the Italian picture was inspired by Bach's oratorio, St. Mathew's Passion is a filmed record of a newly commissioned State Burgtheatre production. Actor Raoul Aslan movingly recites the biblical story of the last days of Christ, while the Philharmonic Orchestra of Vienna underscores his words. Director Ernst Marischka breaks up the visual monotony of the proceeding by utilizing a montage of photographs and paintings of the Middle Eastern regions where the original story took place. Reviewers felt that St. Mathew's Passion should have been promoted as a documentary rather than a dramatic feature.

Paolo vive

The 1992 Via D'Amelio massacre deeply shook Palermo and the whole of Italy, resulting in the tragic death of Judge Paolo Borsellino and his escort. "Paolo Lives" masterfully interweaves Borsellino's tireless quest for justice, vividly portrayed by Bruno Torrisi, with the touching reflections of those who shared his courageous journey. Through intimate interviews, unpublished testimonies and archival footage, this documentary not only honors Borsellino's enduring legacy, but also serves as a battle cry for a new generation, urging them to embrace his values of integrity and courage. "Paolo Lives" is a powerful call to continue the fight against the Mafia menace, keeping alive the memory of a man who sacrificed his life for the common good. A moving and inspiring portrait of a modern hero, the film reminds us that true justice is an ongoing, collective effort.

Whatever It Takes

It’s called “Whatever It Takes.” Why? because Scuderia AlphaTauri does exactly that, whatever it takes, to design, build and develop our cars to race at over twenty race tracks around the world. Filmed from when the team began working on their 2022 challenger up to its initial shakedown prior to the start of the season, the first car to be built to radically reshaped technical regulations, the film crew was a fly-on-the-wall in meetings, in the design office, the wind tunnel, as well as the manufacturing and assembly areas to bring you a truly unique insight into the life of a Formula 1 team and what happens on a day to day basis in the crazy rush to get two cars ready for action in the world’s fastest paced sport.

Dubhe

Vaghe stelle is a seven-chaptered film, conceived as a musical album and composed of seven movements, which can be watched singly (like songs), or in the established order (like a record) or also mixing the films creating new combinations or possible narrations. The “songs” are seven as the principal stars of the Ursa Major. It will be a nocturnal wandering with the starry sky as a reference: an earthly pilgrimage looking for epiphanies or the drift of a hypothetical interstellar trip.

Il Mio Giardino Primordiale : Conversazione con Alessandro Comodin

Director Alessandro Comodin recounts for Fuori Orario the genesis of his two films, "Summer of Giacomo" and "Happy times will come soon" and reflects on his own conception of cinema: the need for escape and movement, the adolescence of moving bodies and the perception of passing time, the importance of locations and immersion in nature, the technical practice during filming, the approach to the cinematographic medium as a way to see better and to establish a relationship of sensory capture of reality, the relationship with the actors. With references to his favorite filmmakers, from Bresson and Monteiro to Wang Bing, and to the recurring images of his films: the hole and the labyrinth, the loop of time and epilogues, the fairy tale and metamorphosis.
