Two Sides of the Moon

Artist Som Supaparinya presents the video work Two Sides of the Moon. This film recounts the lives of fishermen and fisherwomen at the beginning and end of the Moon River where it joins the Mekong, on the border between Thailand and Laos. Each place - and its people - is confronted with the modification of the river landscape by the man-made dam, but their stories and the impact on their lives are contrasting. One community has started to learn how to fish, while the other is counting the names of lost fish and tools. The concept of light and darkness derives from the brightness of the moon and its shadows, and the contrast between the two sides of the river reveals the inequality of fates.

Apollo Program: Tragedy and Triumph

NASA's Apollo Program began with Kennedy's goal to land a man on the Moon by the 1960s, driven by the space race against the USSR. Despite the Apollo 1 tragedy, NASA achieved milestones like Apollo 8’s lunar orbit and Apollo 11’s historic Moon landing in 1969, led by Armstrong, Aldrin, and Collins. Declining interest and funding shifted focus to research, with Apollo 13’s near-disaster showcasing the resilience of astronauts and Mission Control.

Highly decorated and one of Hitler's favourite commanders in the early years of World War II, the 'Desert Fox' was something of an enigma. Never a member of the Nazi party, Rommel detested the blending of politics and war. He would quickly discover that both were always in play in Hitler's Germany. Greg Kinnear narrates.

Psagot Ramallah

Binyamin Haneman's graduation project is dedicated to his homeland — the Israeli settlement of Psagot, situated on the border with Ramallah and Palestinian villages. Using a camera, old photographs, and conversations with two other individuals from Psagot — poet and writer Yonatan Berg and artist Yifat Steinmetz — the director reconstructs the history of the place where, during their childhood, there were no fences with barbed wire and armed militants on the border between the two countries. He remembers how in 2000, at the start of the Second Intifada (escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict), the town rapidly transformed into a site of deadly conflict between two nations, ideologies, and religions.
