Pepe taucht ab

Pepe Lange goes swimming in the Kiel Fjord every day. When temperatures allow, he goes snorkeling. He explores the underwater world and collects trash. The short film follows him on his special patrol. This gives viewers a glimpse into a mysterious world that normally remains hidden from most of us. When we walk along the Kiel Fjord, we can see the fjord, but not quite into it. We can only guess what it looks like below the surface. That's why filmmaker Sven Bohde and his team want to offer the opportunity to look beneath the surface and experience what it's like down there together with Pepe Lange.

Chicago Works with Geoffrey Baer

Chicago is known, famously, as “the city that works.” But who keeps it working? In a new 60-minute special, CHICAGO WORKS, Geoffrey Baer meets (and helps) the industrious workers across the city and suburbs who operate the Chicago’s moveable bridges, deliver millions of packages, care for the city’s animals, process recycling, operate the Wrigley Field scoreboard, and more. Along the way, he learns why the 2.6 million residents of “the city of the big shoulders,” as Carl Sandburg described it, are regarded as hard-working, tenacious, and resilient with a well-deserved reputation for Midwestern realness and approachability.

This Is A Prison

The New Women’s Prison in Limerick is regarded as the most state-of-the-art prison in Europe. With an innovative ‘trauma-informed’ design this is a brave new touchstone for the Irish Prison Services; one that indicates a tide change in how prisons operate in Ireland. But what does success look like in a facility like this and how does it reflect upon a modern Ireland? What is rehabilitation? Next to what social norms? What does this all say about a society where some may feel safer incarcerated, indeed, where some not even yet born are destined to end up ‘inside’?

The First Indigenous Female Pornographer

A mockumentary that blends and bends archival, pornography, re-enactments, and the only existing interview with Audrey Little-breast, “the first Indigenous female pornographer,” as she refuses to be labelled or represented as anything but herself. She is interviewed about her notorious pornography that exploits settler desire of “Imaginary Indians”. The film is a comedy that playfully engages the subjects of Indigenous identity, the politics of recognition, the “playing Indian” phenomenon, and Canada’s hottest piece of tail - The Beaver. We are invited to ponder how deeply historical and contemporary settler-indigenous relations impact our sexuality.

Nueva Forma

Nueva Forma explores the intimate journey of a woman who, after experiencing violence and pain, finds in ceramics a way to reconstruct herself. Through fragments of memory and symbolic scenes, we follow her trembling hands as they shape clay, while her body and spirit search for the strength to rise again. The clay, fragile and resilient at the same time, becomes an extension of her own rebirth. Between the memory of violence and the decision to heal, Nueva Forma is a visual ode to the power of resilience and creation.
