After 9 years apart, the two Afghan refugee brothers, Popal (21) and Darmal (18), are reunited in Denmark. But the two brothers are at very different places in their lives. Popal was granted asylum in Denmark a long time ago and he is a fighter full of dreams for the future. Darmal, on the other hand, has just arrived in Denmark, with a heavy heart and lots of insecurities about his future. When Darmal’s asylum case is rejected, the brothers’ dream of a future together shatters. With a caring pastoral couple, as his closest allies, the ever so resourceful Popal gets hold of a human rights lawyer and goes all in on keeping Darmal above water. But can reality match the brothers’ dream of a future together? And is Darmal still the same brother, he once was so close with? With sibling love as its driving force – and the pastoral couple as mediators when the brothers clash - Kathrine Ravn Kruse’s gripping film is a story about a brother’s struggle not to lose his little brother once again.

Notes of a Wind Chime

"What started as a COVID response film and because I missed a street in NYC evolved into a diary jukebox essay on navigating connection and healing. I wanted this to be my first truly 'positive' film. If Jonas is insanity, then this film is searching for serenity, acceptance and peace. Also the first film where I truly let go of trying to impress and let all the ideas and influences in. Centering the film—and unusual for myself—is a narrative performance by Lisa Naso that can be read in several ways (since this is a WIP I don't want to give away too much). It is the longest film I've made in 5 years. The archival footage of Jim Hubbard and ACT UP alongside an interview with my professor and activist/scholar/filmmaker Alexandra Juhasz creates anchors that expand conversation of intimacy, care, and community."

The Craft of Piano Playing: A New Approach to Piano Technique

An illustrative film demonstrating Alan Fraser's approach to piano playing and principles of ergonomic motion. The exercises in this video develop hand structure and function, replacing both tension and over-relaxation with effective activation based on optimal skeletal alignment. The video offers pianists from beginners to professionals an astonishing enhancement of the colors and sonority one can draw from the instrument, and offers teachers new, effective solutions for their students' most common technical problems.

Amongst the Plants

The film portrays an Amazonian family who works and communicates with plants in order to help Peruvian and foreign people. In their garden, the family cultivates medicinal plants to heal and protect against negative energy. During the night, in a ceremony, they communicate with the 'mother of all plants', Ayahuasca, who provides information on how to further help other people. With patience, the filmmaker learns how plants, animals and humans work together in this garden.

Hostile Architecture: The Fight Against the Homeless

You have probably seen it before and never even noticed. Metal bars dividing public benches. Perhaps tiny spikes sticking out of a railing or half wall. These are examples of a form of city planning that the general public has coined as hostile architecture. Hostile architecture, sometimes called defensive architecture, is a method of urban design that generally discourages the use of spaces in any other way than the intention of the owner. While at first glance this type of space design might seem logical it has a deep-rooted hatred underneath.
