Voices of the Andes

Qhapaq Ñan, known as the Great Inca Road, is an ancient network or roads spanning more than 8,000 miles, running through the heart of the Andes, from the ocean and deserts all the way to Machu Picchu. Constructed hundreds of years ago during the Inca Empire, this vast transportation network still weaves its way through modern-day Peru and Ecuador. More so than other remnants of the Inca civilization, Qhapaq Ñan is a symbol of a common identity that nourishes the dream of the Andean people to this day - to revive their cultural inheritance following centuries of European domination. As this visually striking documentary takes us along the Great Inca Road - revealing its contours, its history, and its secrets - we witness a different image of the Andes and its people.

Documentary on what remains of the Aral Sea in Kazakhstan. A team of scientists specialized in the carbon cycle and its implication in climate change travel to Kazakhstan to study the world's largest living laboratory: the Aral Sea. Once the fourth largest lake on the planet, it is now a desert, and the researchers have designed a study to assess whether its drying up involves the emission of millions of tons of carbon into the atmosphere. Throughout the expedition, they will witness both the receding sea and the memory of a family of three generations of women who have suffered the consequences of this change. The team will have to overcome many adversities along the way that will lead them to the inhospitable center of the ancient lake.

El corazón del bañado

During the winter of 2019, five people undertook a 200 km journey in three canoes through one of the largest and most unknown wild spaces in Argentina. The Pilcomayo river and the La Estrella river, in western Formosa, became a colossal trap after their arms were lost in a labyrinth of mud, weeds, camalotes and cattails. The mission of making this territory known for the first time soon became an incessant struggle to survive. "El Corazón del Bañado" reconstructs what happened on that trip from the perspectives of the five protagonists: two biologists, a guide from the Pilagá ethnic group, a Creole guide and a documentary maker, the director of this film.
