Terra In Vista

Sisco, Cecilia, Gibbo and Armelle work as hired crop pickers. Along with other seasonal workers, they sleep on the farmers’ land before moving on to the next farm. Their irregular worktime depends on the cyclic changes of the weather. For a while, they pick strawberries in Denmark, and then move on to vine in France or oranges in Spain. Even if they find themselves on the society’s edge, with their nomadic way of life condemned by some and adored by others, they remain relatively free and independent. And it counts both in work and money. Precarity, a daily object of struggle of others, is their very own life style. They do not know what tomorrow will bring for them, yet they are still left with a lot of time for dreams and plays.

Watering the West: It All Starts Here

156 rivers begin in Colorado. “The Mother of All Rivers” supplies 17 states and parts of Mexico with life-giving water. Our water begins in the Rockies, flows down rivers, pools in reservoirs, and has been bought, sold, fished, boated, measured and fought over since pioneers and engineers built the first diversions and ditches in the 1800s. Flow through history and down the Cache la Poudre River from Northern Colorado to the Mexican Land Grant where Ben Eaton learned how to bring water from the river to grow crops and cities in The Great American Desert.

Enjoy The Weather: The Film

Enjoy the Weather began as a performance piece, designed and directed by Teresa Silva, the Portuguese choreographer and dancer, during a residency in Marseille (at Montevideo). Today it is a film which exemplifies what can be achieved through the unique combination of moving image and moving body arts. The starting point is a reading of The Life of Plants by Emanuele Coccia. The philosopher adopts the point of view of plants to devise a new understanding of the world as a living system linking all beings - animate and inanimate.

COBORÂRE (Descent)

1989 is largely remembered as the year in which the Berlin Wall fell. But, beneath the rubble of the Berlin Wall lies the Romanian Revolution. In December of 1989, the fight against the mutilated form of Marxism practiced by Nicolae Ceaușescu came to a head when civilian protestors were fired upon by Ceaușescu's military police in Timisoara, killing an estimated 76 people. To ease tension, Ceaușescu delivered a speech to the industrial workers of Bucharest. However, it was not long before the crowd began to jeer in response to Ceaușescu's pontifications. Ceaușescu was arrested by their response, for right before his eyes he witnessed the end of his tyrannical rule and the beginning of the revolution. Ceaușescu was captured on December 23, and on December 25, a military tribunal was formed, where Ceaușescu and his wife were convicted of genocide by starvation. They were then executed by a firing squad.

Wyoming BDR

The Wyoming Backcountry Discovery Route is a multi-day off-pavement ride for dual-sport and adventure motorcycles through the most dramatic and rugged landscapes in Wyoming. Beginning in Baggs, WY, the route traces the mountain ranges to the east through the Sierra Madre and Medicine Bow Ranges, crosses west to the Wind River Range, then goes back east and north through the Bighorn Mountains, eventually ending at a remote Wyoming-Montana border. Almost every section includes some moderately technical riding, as the remote two-track flows through regions of vast high-desert, short-grass prairies, and alpine climates. You will experience expansive views from the summit of two different 11,000-foot mountains, cross two major rim escarpments and pass through many other seldom visited areas and historic mining towns. This is the most remote BDR, so plan ahead and be prepared to have a true backcountry adventure.

The MBC Rolling, Series II

In "The MBC Rolling, Series II", the cooperative engages rolling objects commonly used for auto mechanic work to perform domestic tasks, highlighting and questioning the assumed duality between so-called masculine and feminine labor roles and the heightened value given to capitalist/commodity-based industry over caregiving/service-based industry, the latter of which is often invisible and unpaid. The video is a tapestry of improvised encounters in interstitial and adjacent filmic space between two performers. It is chance choreography with alignment and misalignment in movements and actions engaging bodies, objects, and technology. – The ManosBuckius Cooperative
