Franz Wright: Last Words

Franz Wright, Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, departed over four years ago on May 14 at age 62. In the years following his lung cancer diagnosis in 2010, Franz, during work sessions, recorded hundreds of hours of audio alone and with his wife Elizabeth ranging from finished poems to revisions and fragments, from favorite poems to memos, personal observations to banter. LAST WORDS is a project that began as an abstract radio play and has evolved into a film that merges poetry and cinema. A film that frames the at times poignant and humorous and at times otherworldly and ecstatic stream of consciousness of Franz & Elizabeth's recordings. LAST WORDS is a film of deliberate restraint and austerity - a film that drops in and out of consciousness and pays quiet homage to one of the great poets of the late 20th/early 21st century.

The cost of annexation is life

The film is about how the occupation has changed and sometimes broken the lives of people living on the peninsula. Hromadske journalist Natalia Humeniuk arrived in Crimea on the day of the so-called ‘referendum’ on 16 March 2014, where she talked to people in Bakhchisarai, Simferopol, Yalta and Sevastopol. Since then, the journalist has returned to the peninsula at least once a year: she talked about the first political prisoners, the beginning of repressions against Crimean Tatars, the economic conditions and everyday life of the residents of the occupied Crimea, and what it was like to be a Ukrainian in the occupied Crimea or even an activist of the ‘Crimea is ours’ movement who began to criticise the occupation administration. After 5 years, Hromadske journalists returned to the people whose stories were told in the first months of the annexation.

Wayne Liquorman. Advaita sin vedanta

Wayne Liquorman had Ramesh Balsekar as his Guru, who in turn was a disciple of Nisargadatta Majaraj, authors whose books put non-dual thinking, advaita, in "fashion" in the West and gave the West a series of non-Hindu teachers who teach a advaita without vedanta. We have come up with many questions about the suitability or otherwise of this method without a method, of access, in these times, to these metaphysical heights that have always been the most demanding path in traditions such as Hinduism. His direct style of pointing out what is, he calls living teaching. Here is a small sample of the seed that the Grace of his Guru deposited in his heart.

False Fire: China's Tragic New Standard In State Deception

On January 23, 2001, in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) staged and directed a self-immolation of Falun Gong practitioners to seek success. Through logical reasoning and analysis, the film shows clearly that a government-directed "drama" and self-immolation occurred to resolve a situation in which Jiang Zemin, then leader of the Chinese Communist Party, was "in a difficult position" to suppress Falun Gong. In addition, the film tells the story of how Falun Gong practitioners came out one by one to tell the truth, but were brutally persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party and tortured to death, but they did not give in and insisted on telling people the truth in a peaceful and rational manner. This spirit of perseverance and resilience in spite of life and death shook the audience to their core.

Gemma: My Murder

In August 2010, the body of 27 year old Gemma Hayter was found, tortured and naked, on a disused railway line in Rugby, Warwickshire. Almost a decade later, her friends and family are still struggling to come to terms with the killing – this is Gemma’s story.
