Napoleonic Wars: Battle of Leipzig 1813

In October 1813 Napoleon faced the combined might of the Sixth Coalition (Russia, Austria, Prussia, Sweden) near Leipzig, in what would prove to be the decisive battle of his career. Outnumbered, virtually encircled, Napoleon opted for a high-risk strategy of striking against Schwarzenberg's Army of Bohemia, before the other Coalition armies could come to his aid. The four-day Battle of Leipzig would be the largest and bloodiest battle in European history before the First World War, and one that changed the destiny of Europe.

Make a Silence: Musical Dialogues in Asia

The Hanoi New Music Festival 2018 was an historic event. It was the largest festival of exploratory forms of new music that has ever been held in Vietnam, and artists from countries across Southeast Asia and Japan came to Hanoi to participate. The film Make a Silence - Musical Dialogues in Asia showcases the diverse, multimedia performances that took place at the Festival, including sound art for theatre and video, underground music and free improvisation. Like the Festival itself, Make a Silence is a sensory feast of musical and visual exploration. Combining vivid artistic images, conversations with musicians and footage of concerts, the film meditates on transnational dialogue in the contemporary music scene in Asia.

No Somos De Aquí, Ni Somos De Allá

"I was born and raised along the United States-Mexico border and inhabited both countries while growing up," says Leo Aguirre, a first-generation Mexican-American writer and director. "This film is a testament to the bicultural nature of many people's experience. No Somos De Aquí, Ni Somos De Allá is the most personal project I've directed thus far." Aguirre shines a spotlight on young people's experiences of growing up in the culture of two countries. The delicately shot portraits reaveal the rich diversity of thought and expression from people who consider themselves both Mexian and American. "The film had been percolating in my mind for over two years," says Aguirre. "It consists of a lot of internal dialogues that I've had with myself as a filmmaker and as a first-generation American.

Kayaking

Trying to pass through Siren in the ocean, Odysseus drifted towards the feared unknown chasm. This won't happen today. Knowledge of geology and climatology has blocked humans' curiosity from wandering around the unknown world. The precisely depicted continents, oceans, islands and mountains seemingly announced the death of primitive mythology. This film tries to reboot an individual's search of nature, just like Don Quixote's rebellious journey. The key to this Pandora's box can be merely an unexpected turbulent incident in an individual's life.
