London Boys

Behind the facade of the loud and intimidating motorcycles of The ‘Bangladeshi Bad Boys’ is a group of second-generation Bangladeshi men who find solace in their bikes and community around Shoreditch and Brick Lane. Co-directed by Arun Nangla and Laura Pavone, London Boys offers surprisingly vulnerable moments as it lifts a curtain on the racism faced by the Bangladeshi community in the UK, as well as the frustrations, hurt, and pain that come with it. With a loving lens of East London, the exploration of masculinity and Islamophobia is poignantly told by men facing an identity crisis at the intersection of the generational racism they’ve endured.

Xhizito

Xhizito: Twisted Reflections is a work of journalistic autofiction that blends investigative depth with a fantastical veil of anonymity. At its core, Xhizito is not a character or a place—it’s a sound, a rhythm, a word charged with plastic identity and fluid meaning. Its phonetic expressiveness evokes ambiguity, twisting itself into something elusive and serpentine. But what, exactly, is Xhizito? In this first chapter of a larger enigma, we delve into the heart of a phenomenon that resists definition, seeking answers in echoes, masks, and mirrors.

Claude McKay, errances d'un poète révolté

At the crossroads of Black literary consciousness and political struggle, the ideas of Claude McKay, Jamaican poet and novelist, laid the foundations for major literary movements, including Négritude. Proudly wandering, both bohemian and politically committed, a chameleon with a magnetic personality, he traveled across the globe: New York’s literary scene, Parisian aristocracy, Communist intelligentsia in Russia, and Black diasporas in the port of Marseille. Using archival materials and texts read in voice-over by Gaël Faye and Manon Azem, the film traces McKay’s journey as he crosses paths with major figures of his time, from George Bernard Shaw to W.E.B. Du Bois, Trotski, and many others.

Voladura 76

The newly elected president, Adolfo Suárez, needs the 531 representatives of the Francoist Cortes to approve a law that would dissolve them, and to achieve this he seeks help from the head of the intelligence services, military officer Andrés Cassinello. Cassinello and his men will use every possible means to persuade the “irreducibles” of the Bunker: confidential dossiers, coercion, and a tempting lure that is hard to refuse: generous per diems and a work trip to the Caribbean. Voladura 76 uncovers the secret operation that made the arrival of democracy possible. The film draws on never-before-seen secret documents and valuable testimonies to reveal this political plot with a touch of Berlanga-style satire. From now on, the myth of the Spanish Transition cannot be discussed without taking this secret operation into account.

Free Fish

Free Fish is a short documentary filmed over the course of a year in Gaza, following two brothers — Abu Nagham and Ahmad — separated by war yet connected by the sea. Displaced from their home, Abu Nagham now lives in a tent in the south, fishing with his young nephew Rami, who lost his twin brother. Ahmad remains in the north, fishing amid ruins and occupation. Once a source of livelihood and freedom, the sea has become a battleground — heavily restricted, constantly watched, and always dangerous.

On n'oubliera pas, Beaune-la-Rolande 1942

Nothing predisposed a rural commune in the Loiret region such as Beaune-la-Rolande to embody the height of the Holocaust in France. Yet it was there that a camp was set up where Jewish families were interned, separated, their children abandoned to their fate before being deported alone to their deaths. Long hidden from view, more than eighty years after the events, this tragedy remains a sensitive subject that can still divide opinion on what should or should not be done to ensure it is not forgotten. Following personal journeys and collective commitments, this film meets activists, elected officials, and teachers who are committed to helping a region recover its memory and reconnect with its history, however painful it may be.
