La Simienti del'Augua

La Simienti del'Augua tells the story of the restoration of Arab irrigation channels in the region of La Vera, Cáceres. Through the ancient practice of water sowing and harvesting, volunteers and local residents are reviving these water management techniques. The documentary shows how diverting rainwater and meltwater down slopes through dug channels promotes slow infiltration into the soil, preventing its rapid loss into rivers. The restoration of irrigation ditches improves environmental sustainability, promotes biodiversity, strengthens social cohesion, and revives cultural heritage. La Simienti del'Augua highlights how community unity and respect for traditions are key to addressing current environmental challenges.

Kulechov’s things

“Kulechov’s things” is an experimental short film inspired by L.V. Kulechov, in which we try to put the elasticity of MONTAGE to the test in order to reflect on the fragility and veracity of what we see and hear.Film editing serves as a metaphor for the most unjustified and cruel type of montage: WAR. Travelling through the landscape, customs and current situation in Galicia, we present a fictitious armed conflict in which an invading army attacks the Galician coastline. Thus we have created a “mock documentary” in which thewartime fleet is played by the mussel beds cultivated on rafts in the inlets, the attack on the beaches is represented by the shellfish collectors as they work along the shore, the bombs are the firecrackers and rockets launched duringfestivals, etc..

Wild, Wild

‘Can you smell that?’ The camera goes deep into the forests of Galicia and the north of Portugal among whispers. We need to sharpen our senses to weave the signs left by wildlife. Wild, Wild tracks images and absences of Iberian wolves. The film navigates a relational history, laden with folk mythology, submission and extermination, and confronts an audiovisual history made of images-simulacrum of the natural wild. This film essay is a nature antidocumentary: it features wolves that look back at the camera, terrified, and humans that can howl. All of us creatures leave traces in this careful dance of tracked trackers.

No Tenemos Miedo

October 18, 2019, Santiago, Chile. An increase in the price of public transportation sparks an unexpected riot. Popular anger explodes, rooted in decades of discontent as a result of a savage neoliberal system that has deprived people of the most essential services, in a country that has never returned to true democracy thirty years after the end of Pinochet's dictatorship. Since the first days of the rebellion, we begin to hear about a new urban legend, the Primera Linea, a spontaneous security service that defends protesters. Scenes of protest and urban guerrilla warfare cross the streets and squares in the country. The people crowd the famous Plaza Italia, the zero zone of Chilean demonstrations, now renamed Plaza de la Dignidad (Dignity Square). The repression by the Chilean police is brutal.
