wrathslaughter

Although set in the southern Netherlands and Belgium, the story draws from murders that began in Moscow Oblast, Russia, in 2014. Fedorov, a young man of Russian descent orphaned and raised by his uncle, graduated from a technical university near The Hague but, afflicted by worsening somatic symptoms, failed to secure work. Returning to Russia under sanctions seemed impossible. He wandered the streets, smoking cannabis and throwing stones at drunks. Within this self-made prison he met Helena, a Flemish girl, on an online forum. She lured him into smuggling soap and chemicals to the black market in Liège. The next month he met Helena and two female accomplices at Liège-Guillemins Station. Yet at their suburban hideout—an abandoned factory—he was forced into his first murder and dismemberment. Only then did he realise he had entered their abyss of crime, irrevocably damned. Where will their fates turn in the next manipulative, large-scale ensemble sequence?

Queer in der Provinz

The queer community has long since established itself in large cities, but in rural areas, queer people live less publicly. And when they do, worlds often collide. The documentary shares silent struggles, but also moments of solidarity. The film takes an in-depth look at the challenges, but also the hopes and successes of queer people in rural areas. It shows how social change and greater acceptance can develop in smaller towns. The province is more than just the antithesis of the big city - it can be a place of change in which queer people find their own ways to assert their place.

All of the elements of Brian’s extraordinary life are rolled out in his artworks, experiences that have fueled his drive to bring attention to stories of injustice, stories which might not otherwise be told. He has brought his artworks to UN headquarters in New York and the European parliament to bring attention to what he calls the victims of capitalism.

Flat Tire Down Memory Lane

This newly completed work – made after Johnston’s death – constructs a highly revealing portrait of the artist via interviews with his sister, Marjory (who in his later years collaborated with Daniel on his artwork and continues to advocate for and promote his work), a special focus on his drawings, as well as documentation of his last home, a house in Waller, Texas, which he filled with a truly mind-boggling volume of books, records, VHS tapes, and other collections, all of which serve as a kind of self-portrait of a unique mind and sensibility.

Boxing Against the Binary

“Every body can exercise and move,” a member of Rotterdam-based Queer Gym explains; however, not every person feels comfortable in typical sports environments that often hone in on heteronormative beauty ideals and fitness aspirations. That’s why Romy started Queer Gym, a safe space in Rotterdam, where queer folk can comfortably enjoy sports and exercise. Through intimate conversations with members, trainers and owner Romy, Esmée van Loon’s endearing portrait reveals a true physical need for spaces where queer communities can discover their own strengths.

And The Waves Washed Over Me

An experimental collage-essay composed entirely of iPhone footage, this film captures the emotional textures of memory over the past few years—a move from Sydney to Paris, following love and the pull of what felt right in the moment. Fragments of everyday life, layered with original music, create a flowing meditation on the past and present. The film avoids a linear narrative, instead mirroring the way memories rise and fall like waves: fleeting, emotional, and deeply personal. It’s an attempt to translate lived experience into film, celebrating the beauty of letting life wash over you, while holding onto the love and connections that shape who we are.

Reptile Kingdom

Far from the dream beaches and theme parks of Florida, there is a unique wilderness that is home to some of the world's most feared reptiles. In the vast swamps and lush mangrove forests along the coast, life and death dramas are the order of the day. Alligators are the undisputed rulers of the swamps, but the young animals in particular must learn to recognize danger quickly - otherwise they will become prey for deadly predators. An extremely dangerous reptile also lurks on the coast: the diamondback rattlesnake.
