In the heart of Madrid a ravaged forest lays calm in the aftermath of the storm. Shepherds, sheep and dogs roam among the branches of uprooted trees. Above them, the city resounds with birdsong and underneath we hear the murmurs of the herd. Old walls, new barriers enclose this territory. At night its borders dissolve on the hilltop. Under a black sky the contours of its inhabitants emerge. The land rings out and the city glimmers.

'Abbas Kiarostami: a transversal filmography' is a video essay on the relationship between the different child and adolescent characters in the Iranian director's various films. What is proposed is a parallel montage, based on the raccord of delayed apprehension between the seven films used. In this way, we perceive the sensation of a single character progressing in a linear fashion through Kiarostami's different films. In which the work opaques the entire growth stage of the youngsters, passing from childhood to old age in the blink of an eye.

The documentary film by director Bartomeu Vilà relives the experiences of one of the last cinematographers of the Republic, Joan Mariné, exceptional witness to a moment in the history of Catalan cinema that, despite the economic precariousness, the lack of means and the difficult international circumstances, was characterized by its high production, never surpassed, and its innovation in forms and contents. Through the memories and experiences of Joan Mariné (Barcelona, 1920), the documentary takes a tour of the films he filmed during those years of contention, both with the Sindicat d'Espectacles de la CNT/FAI, and later with the production company of the Republican Generalitat, Laya Films.

15 DAYS / 15 CITIES / 15 CONCERTS In September 2015 I organized a special European tour: 15 concerts in 15 cities in 15 days. From Barcelona to Serbia. Playing in the living rooms of the CouchSurfing hosts, for only 20 to 30 people, and carpooling as our mean of transport. People didn’t have to pay for a ticket, but everyone had to bring some food so we could all share it after the concert. I travelled with Joan Solé, who recorded everything: adventures, concerts, funny moments, parties, etc. Back then, all this footage came out as a 14-episode web series, but now that it’s been 10 years since the tour, we’ve put it all together as a documentary and showed it at Cine Texas in a special screening — and from today, you can also watch it online for everyone to watch.
