O Veneno Está na Mesa II

After impacting Brazil by showing the perverse consequences of the use of pesticides in O Veneno está na Mesa, director Sílvio Tendler presents the second film from a new perspective. Poison Is On The Table 2 updates and advances the approach to the current national agricultural model and its consequences for public health. The film presents agroecological experiments undertaken throughout Brazil, showing the existence of viable alternatives for the production of healthy foods, which respect nature, rural workers and consumers. With this documentary, comes the certainty that the country needs to take a stand in the face of the dilemma that presents itself: In which world do we want to live? The poisoned world of agribusiness or of freedom and agroecological diversity?

The Lingering Now, Our Odyssey II

Created at the 2019 Avignon Festival, The Lingering Now, Our Odyssey II made a splash with audiences and critics alike. In a singular form that joins theatre and film, Christine Jatahy treats the subject of migration with infinite depth: “That which forces millions of individuals to be on the move. That which nationalism traps in refugee camps where life, suspended, elapses. No salvation for these men, these women, these children ripped from their ancestral homes with no promise of any future. A time that stretches endlessly where memories burn the heart, unable to move forward.”

Playcenter DOC

"Playcenter DOC" is a documentary film made independently in 2012 by employees of the Rides department ("Raides": the department responsible for operating rides) of the Playcenter amusement park, which was located in the western part of São Paulo, Barra Funda, from July 27, 1973 to July 29, 2012. The film tells the history of the park with a greater focus on the Rides department. In it, you can see employee meetings before the park began operating, moments of relaxation, lunch, among many other remarkable things that only employees had access to. And even never-before-seen footage of the dismantling of Boomerang; the first major attraction to leave the park.

Moacir Art Brut

Facing many problems, such as impaired hearing and speaking, abnormal bone formation and poverty, Brazilian black naïve artist Moacir lives in the National Park of Chapada dos Veadeiros, aloof and oblivious of outside world, and was discovered by director Walter Carvalho in the 1980s. He spends his days drawing marvellous works with his crayons, depicting human and fantastic beings, fauna, flora, his own inner visions, mystical themes and sex, with a trace of impressive primitivism and beauty. The film registers his daily life.
