Creating Christ

Did Roman Emperors create Christianity? Researchers and scholars James S. Valliant and Warren Fahy take us on a journey, piecing together various physical archaeological artifacts that link the ruling Roman elites of the first century to the first Christians - a link which remained hidden till now. They then reveal the secret ways Christianity was used by subsequent rulers to ensure the religion survived and thrived into modern times. Based on their book of the same name, the Creating Christ documentary reveals this secret conspiracy which began as a way to end the great conflict between Jews and Rome, and ended up changing the course of history, still being in use to this very day. With additional supportive research from scholars Dr. Robert Price, Professor Robert Eisenman, and Acharya Sanning / D.M. Murdock, this documentary adds even greater validity to the thesis that Rome created the New Testament.

A South Asian Queer Pamphlet

Every visitor to this interactive web installation will take home their own queer pamphlet, based on the word they have spelled with a queer alphabet—from the A in Appearance, through Fluid, Intersectionality and other key concepts, to the Z in Theorize. Because each letter is linked to a short film showing the non-binary Indian performance artist Kaur Chimuk, the word automatically creates its own edit. With subversive queerness, these cinematically extremely varied performances, that are as vulnerable as they are powerful, enter historically and socially significant terrain, such as the 16th-century Jamali Kamali tomb of the gay poet and his lover, a dilapidated Portuguese church in Goa, or the famous steps on the banks of the Ganges in Varanasi. But equally, the artist places themself naked in an empty factory or dyeing their feet on a busy street corner. Together these images create a view of a non-binary future from a postcolonial, South Asian perspective.

Shelter

While many have migrated to new spaces during the pandemic, we've all become intimately familiar with the places we call home over the past two years. It's a basic human need, but we're increasingly transient—and in a virtual world, where is our community? Returning to her rural Ontario hometown Horning's Mills and its philosophical residents, filmmaker Tess Girard delicately ponders the spaces we choose to occupy. Conversations with a youthful gravedigger who provides locals with their final resting place contrast with an eccentric elderly couple who plan to save humanity with a bunker of buried school buses known as Ark Two. Girard seeks solace through these interactions while attempting to reconnect to her roots, questioning where she is meant to be. This deeply personal meditation embraces bucolic landscapes down to the smallest detail and grounds itself in quiet, reflective moments.
