Future Justice

In the future Saturn's moon of Titan houses a prison where Earth's worst criminals are kept awaiting their return to Earth for trial and execution. One of those criminals, Python Diamond, is being flown back to Earth, escorted by five members of the military police. Upon their return to Earth, they find that a cataclysmic nuclear war has reduced the world to a near-lifeless husk. Searching for survivors and any clue as to the cause of the destruction leads the six to a warehouse bunker housing scientists who constitute Earth's last remaining hope for the future. Unfortunately, their landing spacecraft drew the attention of one of the gangs that roam the ruined countryside in search of food and resources, leading them straight to the carefully hidden and well-provisioned shelter. The gang lays siege to the warehouse, fighting their way inside in a bloody battle that takes lives on both sides.

Reflexus

A solitary man walks home carrying briefcase and a bag of groceries. It's evening. Close to home, someone in a hurry bumps into him, trips, drops photographs and runs off. The man continues home, opens a bottle of wine, and looks across the quad to an apartment where a woman drinks a glass of wine. He smiles in her direction and then watches in alarm as a man enters her apartment, looks at photographs she has hanging about, grapples with her and knocks her down. Our man rushes toward her flat, seeing her assailant flee. He dashes into her apartment, but there's no body in sight, just photographs hanging to dry. He looks at them. What's going on?

Moving Matter I

Moving Matter is the culmination of a material-led process with artists from dance, costume design and film that began with a study of old kitchen flooring about to be discarded. This flax-based material enters our orbit in the 1950s, where a measured homelife and prescribed domesticity offered a reassuring antidote to bomb scares, political turmoil, and paranormativity. Stability topples as the flooring becomes entangled in the lives of those who don the material as garments and shelters. This film was made through Moving Matter, a long-term research-creation project that offers a methodology for rethinking the dynamism between raw materials, garments, and the body. Moving Matter steers the locus of choreography and wearable design away from human hierarchy to instead support truer collaboration amongst all moving materials, both human and non-human, in this case… linoleum.

Reawakening of memories

I wanted to render an interesting depiction of how the extraction of a dead person's memory-a very sci-fi-esque musing-is used to solve the mystery of a woman's death, and is so doing, cautiously broach the injustice and indifference toward women's issues in our society. In leveraging the highly interactive nature of 360 VR, my goal was to get the audience a little closer to the psychology of the dead woman. Furthermore, I tried to explore new possibilities in VR movies by using multiple cameras and organizing scenes and cuts in such a way as to move beyond the existing VR films' monotonous one-scene, one-take progression.
