In the Shadow of Lemmy Caution

The "registered package" of a lifeless body in front of the door of a former police officer's house marks the beginning of a crazy dance of events. This is how a game between the past and the present begins, without anyone knowing the reasons and causes. Seemingly unrelated cases, links in a chain that the hero is called upon to connect and solve the mysteries. Are these random events or staged and premeditated traps? Mysteries, murders, characters that are as current and relevant as ever, the world of nightlife, the underworld, so-called "high society," modern technology, and floppy disks containing incriminating evidence. People with many faces and roles, dark faces, well hidden. Wealth, power and its obedient instruments, drugs, the emptiness and irony of modern, lonely life...

Seg/me/nts

SEG/ME/NTS is a feature crime anthology consisting of three interconnected shorter films: THE INTRUDER follows the adventures of a cat burglar (Murray Utas) obsessed with breaking into homes - just to watch people sleep. His seemingly innocent voyeuristic addiction soon opens the door for more serious crimes as he becomes deeply involved in the lives of the people he watches. Brodi Roberts and Aaron Talbot star in MUSICAL CHAIRS - the tragedy of six strangers who awake one morning to find themselves poisoned by a man they've never met. Taunting his victims by telephone, the mystery man guides the group to locations containing the antidotes, only to provide some with the cure and others with death. VISIONS tells the tale of a disgraced police detective (Matthew Kloster) afflicted with premonitions of murders before they occur. Only his former partner believes his claims, hoping his dreams will lead her to apprehend a serial killer.

Oedipus and Punishment: An Interview with Edmund Emil Kemper

Oedipus and Punishment (2005) is an adaptation of a pre-existent sketch in Aryan Kaganof's early masterpiece Ten Monologues from the Lives of the Serial Killers (1994), which the auteur made when he still went by his birth name 'Ian Kerkhof.' The film features a monologue from American serial killer Edmund Kemper who is noted for his imposing size and high intelligence, standing 6 ft 9 inches (2.06 m) and weighing over 300 pounds (140 kg), and having an IQ in the 140 range – attributes that left his victims with little chance to overcome him.

Right to Choose

This is a modern story of a prosperous family, in whose harmonious way of life a young man, a former partner of her husband in creating a computer network, breaks into. Involving his wife in a love affair, he pretends to be a messenger from Shambhala. At some point, she is ready to believe him, despite her husband's convictions that her chosen one is crazy. The psychologically tense action is set off by episodes of the hero's fantasies, in which the intrigue is given a comic effect, so there is no reason to assume a tragic ending.

Two Minutes to Zero

A feature-length narrative crime film compressed two different times into two separate films of diminishing duration until the synoptic is synopsized. The imagery has all been "appropriated" (the fancy, art-world-sanctioned term for "stealing") from four issues of an early 1960s comic book version of the then-popular American television show 77 SUNSET STRIP. Music by Glenn Branca (an excerpt from "The Ascension"); film commissioned by the 2004 Rotterdam Film Festival's "Just a Minute" program. - Lewis Klahr
