La piedra solar

In ancient times, when Juan Aldama Zacatecas was San Juan Del Mezquital Zacatecas, the Sun experienced a series of unusual activities in its surroundings. One of these strange solar activities caused the formation of a small asteroid the size of the palm of a hand, which ended up on planet Earth, landing in San Juan Del Mezquital Zacatecas. By then, Maximiliano and his friends had finally killed their eternal rival, a cattle rustler named Salomon Montengro. However, days after killing him, they accidentally came across the Sun Stone and gained great powers. Feeling pressured by their enemies, Salomon Montengro's colleagues, Maximiliano and his friends, hid the Sun Stone in the most unlikely place: in Salomon Montengro's tomb. Now that Salomon Montengro was revived thanks to the Sun Stone, he plans to take revenge on Maximiliano and his friends. To do so, he killed his own colleagues and revived them, turning them into the living dead.

The Outcast

The prologue shows the life of a trapper, living in the solitude of the forest. He digs a bear trap, which is covered with boughs and grass. An Indian girl, armed with a bow and arrow, creeps close to a wild turkey, which she brings down. As she runs forward to gather up her prey she falls into the trap. Evans, the trapper, finds her there and on lifting her from the pit, finds that she has sprained her ankle, and takes her to his cabin, and makes her as comfortable as possible. As the shades of evening fall and the pain subsides, the girl drops into a slumber, and loath to awaken her, Evans leaves her in possession of his cabin and, wrapped in a blanket, sleeps outside. In the morning, the girl having recovered sufficiently, he lifts her to his horse, and mounting behind her, proceeds to the Indian camp. On the way he is attacked by a trio of Indians, who fire at him from behind a tree, and the trapper brings down one of his assailants.

Long Low Line (Fordland)

Dean extrapolated landscape images from 1920s Ford advertisements, leaving out the cars to focus on their representations of place and nature. She made the animation using a digital version of a multiplane camera technique employed in early Disney films to create an immersive and 3D illusion by separating two-dimensional images. This technique was itself inspired by Ford’s assembly line; Dean uses it to explore historical depictions of the American dream, exaggerating the subject matter’s fantastical style.
