Two friends, eighteen-year-olds Kaśka and Magda, are graduating from a film high school. Between having fun and enjoying life, they still have to find time to prepare for the final exam that awaits them. They are tasked with preparing a film etude. When the teacher suggests a topic to them, they rebel at first. They wanted to make a film about socially important issues, about contemporary problems, they wanted to change the world, and here they get the story of some village girl from 100 years ago, who let herself be killed in a senseless way. Willing not to, they set off to Zabawa, where their heroine Karolina Kózkówna lived and died.

The Turkish Gambit

The film is based on the second book from the Adventures of Erast Petrovich Fandorin series of novels written by the Russian author Boris Akunin. The film takes place in 1877 during the Russian-Turkish war. Erast Fandorin has just escaped from Turkish prison and is trying to get on the Russian side as soon as possible to give important information about the upcoming attack of the enemy. On his way he meets Varvara Suvorova, a young lady who is going to see her fiancée - a soldier of the Russian army. Erast also knows that there is a spy somewhere in the Russian army, everyone is under suspicion.

The Talking Robe

In the 1600s, Hungary is plundered by the Turks and the Laban. Kecskemét, the free royal city, is not exempt from this. Miska, the wily son of Lestyák, a master tailor, suggests to the town council that they should ask for a permanent beacon from Buda, thus protecting Kecskemét from the harassment of raiding troops. The town assembles its gift of jewellery, cloth and a beautiful girl, and Miska sets off for Buda. On the way, the young gypsy girl falls in love with Mishka, who elopes with her in a boy's dress. He can do this because instead of the bewitchment he hopes for, he is given only a fancy robe to protect the city. Little do they know at the time how much the robe is worth. Before its wearer, all true believers will crumble to dust and do his bidding.

Kuduz Recep

The film tells the story of a gang leader who helps in the national struggle. Paşa receives gold from foreign powers in order to neutralize the National Forces. Meanwhile, Captain Murat, gang leader Kuduz Recep, and his men raid Paşa's house. They seize all the gold and set off for Ankara. Kuduz Recep says he cannot continue on the journey because he was wounded in the raid. He takes the gold and flees with his men. Captain Murat pursues Kuduz Recep and his men. Hamza, one of Recep's men, takes advantage of Recep's injury, ties him up, and throws him into the river. He hides the gold and takes over as the leader of the gang. Captain Murat finds Recep in the river and they begin searching for Hamza together. Captain Murat is killed during a clash with Hamza's men. Meanwhile, Recep finds Hamza and takes the gold. He will then set off to transport the gold to Ankara.

The year is 1764. For over a year, Josef has been leading a precarious life in Venice. He hopes to become an opera composer. The city, full of talented and already-established composers, seems closed to him. Looking for work as a violinist, he comes into the orbit of a rich young woman. Thanks to her, he gets the opportunity to play at salons. But his real opportunity arises when he becomes the lover of a libertine marquise. She teaches him worldly manners, rids him of signs of a provincial upbringing and introduces him to a hedonistic existence free from religious intolerance. Budapest Timegate

In the summer of 2004, a group of filmmakers embarked on a project in Budapest, capturing the city's essence with several dozen rolls of Kodachrome 40 Super 8mm film. Although they utilized only a small portion of the footage at the time, the material remained untouched for nearly two decades. In 2024, they rediscovered this treasure, breathing new life into it by adding sound and music. They returned to the same urban locations, now equipped with digital technology, to create a fresh narrative that intertwines the past with the present.
