PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie

The PAW Patrol crash land on an uncharted tropical island filled with dinosaurs after their ship gets caught in a mysterious storm. They meet Rex, a pup who has been stranded for years and has become an expert in all things dino-related. When the Patrol’s archrival, Mayor Humdinger, begins recklessly mining to exploit the island's natural resources, he inadvertently causes a huge, dormant volcano to erupt. The pups are thrown into a series of high-stakes, dino-sized rescues bigger than anything they’ve done before, as they must stop Humdinger before everything on the island goes extinct.

Young Female Playwright

When 26-year-old Millie lands a career-making debut as playwright at Canada’s National Theatre, celebration quickly turns to scrutiny after a press release describes her play as a “deeply personal story”. Millie is sure that the dark, family-drama is a work of fiction; but her family is concerned, especially her Uncle Mark, a school teacher and recovered alcoholic. Through bright lights, and dark comedy, Young Female Playwright asks who gets to tell what story, and what it costs for a woman to be believed.

Second Nature: Gender and Sexuality in the Animal World

Did you know that clownfish change sex from male to female? (So if Nemo’s mom had died in real life, his dad could have become his mom!) Did you know that albatross, penguins and swans parent in same sex pairs? Or that bonobos, who are just as closely related to us as chimps, are matriarchal and have same-sex sex every day?! Narrated by Elliot Page, Second Nature follows trailblazing Evolutionary Biologist Dr. Joan Roughgarden as she meets groundbreaking scientists exploring the 1500+ animal species who engage in same-sex sexual behavior and parenting, change sex, form matriarchies, and more, debunking myths that females are “inferior” and that being queer is “unnatural.” SECOND NATURE — everything you didn’t learn in high school biology.

I'm in Love with a Stripper

Alone on Christmas Eve, Michael makes a last-ditch effort to win back his ex-girlfriend. Although repelled by his sudden reappearance, the promise of $1000 buys ten minutes of Honey’s time as she reluctantly sits through his declaration of love. Michael’s dreams of a heartfelt reunion are shattered when he is promptly rejected by a stripper who refuses to participate in his fantasy, challenging toxic romantic comedy tropes normalized through contemporary media. Based on her semi-autobiographical stage play, Never Walk Alone, Julie Phan offers a desensationalized interpretation of sex work through an intimate representation of the person underneath the projection.
