The greengrocer Ferdinand Strubel wants his daughter Marianne to marry the son of the brewery owner Baron von Schnackenberg. Since Strubel is an impossibly cheap bastard, the marriage is to take place on 20 May, which, coincidentally, is the same day the city is having a grand festival for him to celebrate his company's being in business for 100 years. Marianne, however, has fallen in love with Leopold, a gym teacher; and when he reads an article in the newspaper about the upcoming arrival of Haley's Comet on 19 May, he comes up with an idea how he can prevent the wedding from taking place: He tells Strubel that the world is going to come to an end when the comet shows up, so that Strubel will see the errors of his way, cancel the arranged wedding and will become a better person for it. The cozy harbor pub "Störtebeker" is run by the ship's cook Karl Brammer together with his wife Mary. One day Karl is caught in a small smuggling operation and is sent to prison for three months. Mary prefers to conceal the truth and tells him that her husband is back at sea. But then fate strikes: the supposed ship goes down with man and mouse and everyone who believes they can inherit something from Karl storms Mary's house. With so much "sympathy" from the grieving relatives, the man believed to be dead has to put things in order himself.

Honesty is the best? The original comedy tells of a farmer's clever family, which comes to this insight after some confusion. Director and author Thomas Kronthaler packages a fine morality about money, family ties and charity with a black sense of humor and a sense of subtle punchlines. In addition to Saskia Vester and Heinz-Josef Braun, who is mainly known through the films of Marcus H. Rosenmüller, shines not least the multi-award winning Gertrud Roll as a clever senior.

As Maven’s story unfolds on live television, we learn about her son, her politics, her heritage, and her alter-ego Rosa who champions radical self-expression and feminism. The interview is dispersed with beautiful volcanic eruptions from Maven that act as both a denunciation of the city’s leadership and a love letter to Berlin.

A hybrid work of nocturnal forays through Hamburg in documentary-animated live action. Alongside feminist social criticism, autobiographical references remain never fully deciphered. Alongside the gloomy Wanda Wandalis and Krossen Kerlen, "Didi" enriches the director's dark excursions and artistic positions in a fascinating way with his presence as an eccentric character. This love, embodied by Dietrich Kuhlbrodt (known for his subversive roles in Christoph Schlingensief's films), brings unmistakable charm and humor to the collaboration with Pachet Fulmen. "I'm not interested in pigeonholing," says Fulmen. Her art is a rebellion against convention — uncompromising, uncomfortable, unforgettable.

The funded pension scheme is becoming a poverty trap for the average earner, so the only thing that helps is new enemy stereotypes to keep the democratically fooled at the bar where they are allowed to dance. Volker Pispers constantly updates his cabaret program and thus reflects the state of the republic: the ever new in the eternally same. Because while the media circus with its speech bubble jugglers makes us believe that something is constantly happening, virtually nothing is happening when it comes to the fundamental problems. You look in vain for respect in Pispers' programs. Blunt, crass and direct, he oscillates between bitterly angry and charmingly witty when he thinks the absurdities of the world through to the end.

Otto is the proud father of his three children, David, Julia, and Pius. This requires considerable logistical skill, as the three mothers must not know anything about each other.
