Days of Hell

This fast-paced film stars (Conrad Nichols) as the tough Captain Williams, head of a crack commando squad who goes into Afghanistan to save the U.S.S.R. -- and indirectly, the U.S. -- from some very bad publicity. A journalist and his daughter have evidence that the Russians are using biological and chemical weapons in their war in Afghanistan. The unit of five commandos smuggle themselves into Afghanistan through its neighbor Iran, bribing the leaders of that country with some spare parts for its war planes (shades of Iran-Contra!). Once inside the country they discover that the journalist has already died from exposure to nerve gas, and his daughter is already getting sick. Williams starts to guess that they are all being set up because everything is going just a little too well, and he adjusts his plans accordingly. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

Earth year 2022. A pig-tailed girl with tape across her nips that’s dressed like an 80s leather bar-frequenting gay man named Osso escapes prison. Skipping down a dirt road, she’s psychokinetically frozen by a boobed Grim Reaper and told to become the leader of an invisible motorcycle gang. Meanwhile, it’s hinted that earth has been struck by an asteroid, changing its overall climate to that of a desert. Weirdly, a mirror planet dubbed Arret from another dimension overlapping our own is faced with the opposite problem. As such, a Dr. Moreau attempts to raise money for a “time gate” he theorizes will open a doorway between the two worlds. That way, he and those he presumes to be super-intelligent beings can pass through it to help each other resolve their climate issues. The Furlough

The story of four inmates during their 48 hours furlough, of their reality and how it has brought them behind bars. The characters are described with realism, with their contradictions, their desperation, the temptation of an escape, but the cornerstone of the movie is the sincerity of the positive feelings of each and everyone of them: the love of a father for his son, the love for a woman, for friends, and most of all the pursuit of a lost (if ever had) personal dignity and pride. Four characters of different ages and extractions, three man and a woman: Luigi, Donato, Rossana and Angelo.
