Chi Kit worked in a stock company. One day, the stock market crashed and Chi Kit ran into bankruptcy. He called his girlfriend Siu Suen and told her everything. Siu Suen loved Chi Kit so much that she took all her savings and ran away with him to Singapore to hide away from their debts. Unfortunately, Chi Kit met a wealthy woman with an interesting proposal, and it changed everything.

A multi-lingual tour guide who owns multiple passports one day drives his wife and daughter to a desolate seashore town and checks in a secluded, spacious, ruins-like hotel. From that moment on, he throws himself into gambling, tossing the dice with local residents all day. Sometimes he wins big, but sometimes he loses all. At the end of the 19th century, Shanghai is divided into several foreign concessions. In the British concession, a number of luxurious “flower houses” are reserved for the male elite of the city. Since Chinese dignitaries are not allowed to frequent brothels, these establishments are the only ones that these men can visit. They form a self-contained world, with its own rites, traditions and even its own language. The men don’t only visit the houses to frequent the courtesans but also to dine, smoke opium, play mahjong and relax. The women working there are known as the “flowers of Shanghai”.

A rather dejected Mei-li Chen lives with her extended family in the suburbs. She drops out of college when the boy she has a crush on finds a girlfriend. Mei-li eventually ends up selling tickets in a movie theatre. A great camaraderie then builds up between the two cashiers in the small ticket booth.

An anthology of three erotic stories. In the first story ("Pink Encounter"), a salesman is unable to control his libido as a customer takes off all her clothes to test out a bathtub for sale. The second story ("House For Rent") features two couples who are sexually unsatisfied until they get the idea to swap partners. In the final story (no English title), a woman kills her rich husband then enters a steamy affair with the policewoman investigating the crime.

Over the course of a few days, the paths of a group of young friends, lovers, and acquaintances in Taipei intersect, prompting them to arrive at realizations about their lives.

A widow by the name of Lee Jiu Jin, willingly sold herself to a farway outskirts village without knowing that she is to be shared by 7 men, so as to raise the money for her son's wedding. As these villagers are extremely poor, the men could not afford to keep a wife. This kind of transaction was common in China for women to be sold as brides, but the Government intend to put a stop to such practices by enforcing laws which results in the exile of lawbreakers. Bearing this in mind, Lee and her 7 husbands lived in constant fear of being caught and as for Lee the sufferings and hardships were more than she could bear. As the time passes, Lee grew to understand all 7 men's background, and her hatred for them turn into pity. This relationship at last ended in tragedy.

The story concerns a male youth named Ah Chung (or Diong-ah in the Taiwanese dialect) who graduates from high school and descends into a maelstrom of personal, familial, and communal conflicts. Fan Long (played by Liang Chaowei), the staff officer of the National Army, escaped from the captive camp and returned to the National Army camp through all the difficulties. The soldier Ading (played by Lin Zhiying) also returned to the army, and the veteran Lao Xie (played by Wu Mengda) gave him the care of the Ading brother who lost his comrades-in-arms. Commander He of the National Army (played by Ke Junxiong) negotiated with the Myanmar side and tried to put down his weapons and return to it. Fan Long planned to save some of the weapons, but the Myanmar side killed the National Army. It all relied on Fan Long, and the National Army was able to break through. However, the team soon differentiated. Fan Long and others defected to the bandits, and Commander He led the rest to submit to the Thai government. The soldiers of the National Army who were exiled to the Golden Triangle launched an outstanding struggle for survival
