A couple of prison inmates seem to have a communication problem.

Ana Canales is a young Christian woman who has been working for a few months at the Refugio Cafe, a Christian NGO that helps refugees in Berlin. There she meets Bibi, a young Iranian woman who works at the cafe, and who is soon to be deported from the country. At a birthday party the two of them speak for the first time, and Ana discovers a reciprocated attraction to Bibi. Unable to confront what she feels and at the same time concerned about Bibi's situation, Ana sets out to help her even if it means being honest with herself and with God.

As a construction manager, drinking is more of a normality for Mark than not drinking. In addition to his work on construction sites, during business dinners and sprawling Berlin party nights, there is always a reason for him to fully indulge in alcohol intoxication. When he tries to drive his car out of a no-parking zone in a drunken stupor one night, he is promptly checked and immediately loses his driver's license. On the following day, Hedwig's birthday, she doesn't shoot the duck, but shoots herself instead.
