A Canção do Asfalto

The film tells the story of Chen, a Chinese immigrant who lives as an invisible person in the city center. Amid homesickness, difficulty communicating in Portuguese and tiredness from work, Chen can't fit in anywhere. At night, alone and when the streets are empty, the asphalt becomes meditation and there he can dream. It is a fiction created and set in real locations in collaboration with the characters themselves, all non-professional actors who play themselves, creating a portrait with documentary aspects, both of their lives and of the center of Curitiba.

The Winter of Zeljka

A silent, black-and-white train journey through Eastern European winter landscapes takes a man to a Croatian village. An arrival in the cinematic tradition of 1920s avantgarde, with the railway and industrial modernity as a favourite graphical motif, which takes him past a fish market and a strange procession, and finally home to a small family, where the grandparents drink tea, smoke cigarettes and chat cheerfully. The image of a young woman burns itself onto the celluloid - and into the filmmaker's consciousness.

JULY

During a seemingly ordinary school vacation, eight-year-old Diego struggles to understand why his older brother, Nicco, has suddenly become distant. While Diego clings to the simple rituals that once brought them together, Nicco retreats further into silence, carrying a pain no one around him fully sees. As memories of happier Julys blur with the present, Diego is forced to confront a reality beyond his understanding. Through the eyes of a child, JULY explores the quiet weight of depression, the bonds between siblings, and the small acts of love that can become lifelines in moments of darkness.
