Hypothesis Voyager is a road trip film that weaves social theory with a trip to the west of the United States.The video opening with a gallery social scene through the viewfinder, point out the first-person view that associated with the spectator. Then the story turns into discovering the history of the first human shelter that held the social events. Through the shift of the way we see art, the narrator travels us to the gallery and the loop we all faced. To escape, the time froze, the artist takes a deep look into the story of volcano mt. Vesuvius and sees the crater from a historical and mythology perspective of how it formed. The artists' camera becomes the vehicle voyage the viewer through time and space. The narrator travels the audience with her emotions that served as the passages connect each chamber by making the tour and detours.

Life Derailed

On the eve of Taiwan’s controversial referendum related to same-sex marriage, the world is crying for an outlet under the stiffing social atmosphere. Jie, a woman in her early 30s, is trying to balance her life between taking care of her ill mother in Taipei city, her aspiration as a substitute teacher in a rural county, and her lesbian identity. Her effort to earn recognition from her parents and from work falls apart after experiencing a major train derailment accident, followed by the death of her mother. Such life-changing events awaken her desires to break free from the status quo burdened by social and familial responsibilities to “fit in” and “impress”. She realizes she cannot fulfill her aspiration as an educator in the current education system and starts making peace with life of her own accord.

Abishag

Abishag is an Indonesian Muslim who tries to make a living in Taiwan. Her job is to look after an old man aboned by his own family. The old man locks himself, Abishag, in his own confined space, watches porn films all day long, trying to feel alive again. Abishag is not used to her work; it requires intimate contacts when doing diaper changing jobs, which makes her very uncomfortable, let alone her religious belief rules the opposite. No one can escape from death; the old man knows it. He tries to feel the energy of life from Abishag but fails in attempt. Day after day, these two reluctant persons manage to constrain their sadness, but the pressure is about to explode. Love may be the best present for the old man, but who is willing to offer that to him? Is Abishag able, willing to give?
