Accompanied by his old manservant, scholar Sung Li Ho (Hong Hoi) is on his way to the capital for the imperial exam. Captivated by the beauty of the owner’s two daughters, who are vampires, he spends a night with them and turns into a skeleton. Chased by the vampires, Shun Lai makes a narrow escape.

Beijing, winter 1990. Song and his girlfriend Xiao Qing have just moved into a hovel which they're illegally renting since they are not officially married. During Japan's invasion of China in World War II, two disgraced Japanese soldiers are given a second chance. Facing execution for various infractions, the two men are offered a reprieve if they take a special assignment. Since they can speak Chinese and know the territory, the men are assigned to the task of running a Chinese labor camp the Japanese operate in occupied territory. After the men take over, they work the prisoner's so hard the labor force rises up in revolt of their treatment.

Director Chu Yuan was one of the new breed of directors at Shaw who raised the bar of martial arts films, by adding compelling storylines and a good dose of drama. Despite being without his regular cohorts Ku Lung and Ti Lung here, Chu shows his master stroke as he delves into the dastardly ways of evil warlords in China back in the 1910’s. Drama and action both take centre-stage as Tsung Hua and Ching Li fall prey to a lecherous general (Stanley Feng Tsui-fan) who rapes and forces the latter to become his concubine. With the help of two street performers (the deft and agile Chen Kuan-tai and Shih Szu) he once helped, Tsung hatches a plot to save his beloved – with deadly consequences.

Subaru and her twin brother Kazuma share a dream in becoming ballet dancers, but their passion is discouraged by their father. After Kazuma's death from a hereditary illness, dancing became Subaru's only happiness and she yearns to lose herself in dance. All clothes have a story to tell. Ma was about to close the Angela laundry shop for the day when Shum appeared. A young man with a head injury and handful of dirty clothes from his stay at the street during the Umbrella Movement, Shum needs his clothes washed. Full of passion for the social cause, Shum initially chided Ma for staying in the comfort of the shop. However, these two strangers slowly opened up to each other when a number of characters passed by the shop, revealing the tumultuous world behind Ma’s stoic silence. Shum also gained new insight on meaningfulness, which exists not only within a worthy cause but also at seemingly abandoned clothes.

Hua Heng is a poverty-stricken aspiring painter whose day job involves painting the ads that go up on the sides of buildings. The movie is divided into two parts. It's about the meeting of two men and women. It's a bit like a road movie. The first person to show up was Alan (Liu Yali), a cashier in a bar on the Hong Kong Shenzhen highway. After many years, Sabrina finally comes to terms with their separation and moves on following her retirement. However, her new life is shattered by the news of Andrew's serious illness.
