Keita Shimabukuro, a younger brother of Aki Shimabukuro who sells her body for a living, crashes in his sister's place. The story is a variation on the Tom Hanks classic "Big," but instead of a boy finding himself in a man's body, a sick girl falls asleep one day and does not wake up again for 11 years. When her aunt, a free-spirited photographer (Karie Kahimi), goes missing in South America, her mildly scatter-brained mother (Kaho Minami) and father (Tetsuji Tanaka) go looking for her, leaving the girl, Natsumi, to look after her sleeping sibling, Ai (Rosa Kato). Yes, this is a clear case of child neglect, but Natsumi is such a no-nonsense, responsible type that it seems almost understandable. Soon after Mom and Dad leave, she notices that Ai, incredibly, is up and about, with the body of a woman, but the mind of an 8-year-old.

With flashing swordwork and a terrific story, wandering gambler Kusama Hanjiro inspires the wrath of Boss Jirotaro who has been terrorizing travelers along the route through his territory. When Hanjiro steps in to gamble with him one-on-one it leads to a deadly vendetta that will show no mercy. Along the way Hanjiro is called upon to help sisters with no one else to depend on. The original novel is by Shugoro Yamamoto. It depicts a friendship that transcends social status and age, featuring the captivating monologue by Kunie Tanaka and moving expressions of the soul. When the thief Denkuro (Tanaka Kunie) sneaks into a dilapidated mansion, he finds a young samurai (Furuoya Masato) sleeping there. Despite being threatened, the young samurai remains unfazed and helps Denkuro when he falls into a hole in the floor. Denkuro receives a pair of straw sandals from the young samurai who says he hasn't eaten anything for three days, and the next morning Denkuro goes out to buy food and prepare breakfast. From that day on, Denkuro takes care of the naive and helpless young samurai, nicknamed "Nobusan."

As a result, Japan has to decommission a ship to its makers' disappointment. An institute of technology's laboratory designs a new ship. Due to less ships, sailors have to retire and are also disappointed. The laboratory's manager and an admiral are visiting a patient at a hospital and meet coincidentally. The former has a daughter who worries about her father's workload. She asks him to accompany her to a concert. Father has little time, but is convinced for her sake. He is inspired for a ship's design at the performance. The film is inspired by the life of Jo Hiraga.

In her political economy class, she questions her teacher about her doubts, and ends up debunking him. Eventually, Asami, along with her classmates Abe and Nakatani, stand up to revitalize the declining shopping arcade, hoping to make the future a little brighter with their own power. On her way home, Asami visits a young local reporter, Mr. Arahata, to ask him to write a newspaper article about a festival in the shopping arcade, and on her way home she meets a talented councilor, Mr. Muto, who used to be a Sentai hero.

Rina Ichinose starts a busy work life at an advertising agency right after graduation. But the job doesn't go well and she has to work overtime every day. The nagging from her father after she goes back home drains her physically and mentally. So she resigns from the agency. Rina meets a charismatic therapist Karen at a job fair. Attracted by her vigor, Rina decides to become a therapist. But things do not go well at the beginning and she even infuriates a male customer, the former professional baseball player Usui. Usui was a preeminent professional baseball player but his contract was terminated by the club due to the sequela caused by a dead ball hit. Rina tries every means to help him come back to the field as a baseball player.
