In the past, Young-Chae and Jong-Kil were about to get married, but Nam-Soo killed Jong-Ki. Nam-Soo finds Young-Chae living with her daughter. She runs a small lodge in Kangwan province. Young-Chae and her daughter don't have much money and Nam-Soo feels a heavy sense of guilt ...

In the winter of 1948, the Huaihai battlefield. The telephone operator Yuxiang (played by Huang Xiaolei) rescued the rural girl Yuxiang (played by Li Xiuming) who was about to hang herself during the mission. Yuxiang has nothing to do with her, and she is willing to accept her personally and tell her sufferings of being homeless.

They go out on trips happily, and become the envy of the neighborhood. Zhang thus gets the new car he's always dreamed of, but he starts to worry about it getting dirty, because it's simply too new, too nice for him. The car thus becomes his son's vehicle. He rides the old bike to work again, just like he has during all these years.
