Autumn 1985. A storm awakens the Mediterranean. A village is devastated, crops destroyed. On the beach, the waves have washed up a whale. Dead, it is declared a carrier of disease. Corbac, a sick and misanthropic winegrower, wants to save the cetacean's skeleton from being blown up for sanitary reasons. Day and night, his daughter Mathilde watches as the largest of creatures is paraded piece by piece in front of the church, the school, and the distillery, awakening the unconsciousness and violence of the villagers. Mathilde knows her father. He will see it through to the end...

In 1973, towards the end of the Franco regime, the famous catalan writer Mercè Rodoreda bumped into the literary critic Josep Maria Castellet in Geneva where she lived exiled and she invited him to tea at her house. The writer was a most discrete person and maintained everything that concerned her wrapped in secrecy. Indeed she herself had become a secret or perhaps, even a maker of secrets. However that afternoon, strangely, she opened up and shared many intimacies.

Un Vintén pa’l Judas

Christmas Eve. The children ask for money for the Judas (Un Vintén pa’l Judas), and the protagonist, a failed tango singer without means or will to live, meets a friend, a public employee, in search of some rummage. This one asks him to buy a lottery. The tango singer, in need of money to buy a guitar to use in a singing contest, collects the winnings for himself, betraying the trust of his friend, in the same way as the Judas that the children burn on the streets.
