Ein Münchner im Himmel

Alois Hingerl, porter no. 172 at the Munich train station, gets into heaven. St. Peter introduces him to the heavenly house rules: “rejoicing” and “singing hallelujah”. Of that, “Angel Aloisus” is not very edified, especially since he is supposed to get “heavenly manna” instead of Munich beer. Due to a few irksome events at the side, his dissatisfaction is only increased. Angrily, he sits down on his cloud in order to rejoice and sing hallelujah. But that sounds in such a way that the heavenly population’s hair stood on end. In his indignation, Alois even doesn’t mince his words towards the Lord. The latter gives in and orders Alois to deliver the divine afflatus to the Bavarian government. He sends him immediately with a corresponding letter to Munich. As “angel Aloisius” comes back home, he at once goes to the Hofbräuhaus. And like this, the Bavarian government waits till today for the divine afflatus in vain.

In ancient China, there is a poet named Lo who lives in the emperor’s palace. While the hardworking people long for peace and happiness, Lo writes hymns in honor of the militant emperor, who is perpetually hungry for conquest. The monarch is pleased by the poet’s words, but the people do not want to hear the hymns praising him anymore. Lo is completely unaware of this and is surprised when the kitchen maid Hsi-Hua refuses to sing his hymns. With her help, Lo learns what the people really want and is able to see how cruel the emperor is.

Puss in boots

When the old miller dies, he leaves the mill to the eldest son, the donkey to the second eldest and a tomcat to the youngest. The tomcat wants to repay his master's friendship and help him. He has his boots made, gains access to the royal castle and catches the partridges the king wants. He impersonates the miller's boy Hans as "Count of the Mill", tricks him into wearing elegant clothes and brings him together with the king and the princess. He succeeds in overcoming the evil sorcerer and winning a magnificent castle for Hans. Hans finally becomes king and his cat first minister.

The Magic World of Topo Gigio

Topo Gigio, the well-known puppet animated by Maria Perego, embarked on a rocket of his own invention in the company of inseparable Rosy and a new friend, Giovannino (a small worm coming out of an apple), leaves for the Moon, but unexpected difficulties put an end to the journey in the middle of a Luna Park, where the little hero has the chance to show off his cunning and his courage in defending Rosy from the evil intentions of a bad magician. The adventure will end in the happiest of ways.

The Games of Angels

Animated short. Abstract forms in a setting evocative of a concentration camp created by the universe. Based on a series of paintings by the Polish artists and filmmaker Walerian Borowczyk, Les Jeux des Anges takes the viewer into a nightmarish and sinister labyrinth world. With images reminiscent of Bosch and Ernst and an abstract soundtrack the film evoke unspeakable horrors lurking at the heart Borowczyk's masterpiece. Borowczyk described the film himself as "A report on the city of angels."

Revenge

The devil wants revenge on Kasper for his last defeat and kidnaps Gretel in a helicopter. Kasper uses all the possibilities of modern technology to find and free Gretel, but the devil always manages to shake off his pursuer. He insidiously saws through the bridge and Kasper and his Trabant plunge into deep water. The devil sees himself as the winner, but has not reckoned with Kasper's determination and the reliability of the little car. In the end, the evil kidnapper is defeated and locked in the fridge.
