A disturbing story set in the near future. People are holed up in their small dwellings and live in a virtual world. Everyone films and streams various videos. They don’t have a clue that they’re not free until one of them goes outside. But the discovery of the outer reality is something their virtual masters aren’t happy to see.

One day a girl notices a distortion in her surrounding environment, which prompts her to start searching for her own connection with the world. But, the distortions become even more extreme. She wonders if the deviation is happening within her, or in the outside world.

Before producing a TV series, a pilot film was made to let sponsors and television stations grasp the work's pervasive quality. This is the pilot film for "Dororo" in which the characters are closer to those of the original story compared to the characters in the TV series. The faces and personalities of the characters in the TV series are altered from time to time to gain popularity among its viewers. As a result, sometimes viewers really loved it, but at other times it didn't go over as well. The pilot for "Dororo" was made in color, but the TV series was monochrome due to a tighter budget. The story depicts a journey in which the boy thief named Dororo and a cursed man called Hyakkimaru destroy monsters. Hyakkimaru can be a complete "human" only after he destroys 48 devils.

An animated pilot film for Band of Ninja released to the public over three decades later on The Legend of Ninja Kamui DVD volume 7. The pilot film was created in 1969 as director Nagisa Ōshima was wanting to make a TV animation to build off his controversial film from 1967. The pilot was rejected by Shirato himself (the original comic creator the film was based on) and the plan was changed to animate Kamui Gaiden instead, a side story to the Kamui manga also created by Shirato. Though with this change, Ōshima did not partake in The Legend of Ninja Kamui's production.

The principal is beaten and now it's up to Yuu Sakurano, Yuzuki Kaede and Nagomi Fujikura to take back the school from her and return it to the former peaceful days. This is the start of a full-scale war, one that this school has never seen before.

"The New Book of Mountains and Seas" is composed of a large number of ink paintings, which are finally produced into animation form. The title of the work is taken from the ancient Chinese mythology classic "Shan Hai Jing". In addition to studying the interaction of ancient and modern Chinese culture, the "New Mountain and Sea Classic" and similar works have a dreamlike effect: the clearly depicted images composed of incredible narrative techniques faithfully present the illusion of the world around people. The work strongly condemns environmental degradation, social collapse, and large-scale urbanization. The connection with reality strengthens its political significance.

Japan, 1920. Okiku is a maid who works in a mansion, which is inhabited by a puppet theater writer and his wife, who lives in seclusion. When the maid tries to contact the woman, she brings to light a terrifying secret.

Iki mixes old and new technologies to create a film that evokes both the sights and sounds (hum of cicadas) of a hot Japanese summer. Black and white photographs of a Shinto shrine, summer landscape and an old Japanese-style house provide the backdrop and CGI technology adds the visual interest in the form of an unusual little girl and her ghostly frog companion. The ghost in this story is more a curiosity than something scary, and the use of a fish-eye lens and other distortions suggest both the sweltering humidity of summer and also imply that the frog is an imaginary creation of the young protagonist

Afro-Ken, a dog with a rainbow-colored afro, is a happy dog that does not speak. He likes things that look like him, such as cotton candy. There are different types of Afro-Ken, with different hairstyles, such as a mohawk (called Mohican-Ken), curls (Curly-Ken), and no hair (Normal-Ken).
