An animated film for five- to eight-year-olds on children's right to live with their parents. It tells the story of a child who gently but persistently tries to attract the attention of her father who is wrapped up in his work.

Made at a time when the director was facing great uncertainty in his life, the film is an extended, often humorous, look at a man pulled in too many directions, in a world in which everything keeps changing and all roads seem to lead back to the beginning.

Confronted by his daughter's wish to own a dog, award-winning animator Dennis Tupicoff recalls the dogs of his childhood, in the industrial outer Brisbane suburb of Darra. Every household seemed to have a dog. Some were friends who shared his explorations and roamed free on adventures of their own before meeting an untimely death or simply disappearing. Some were huge, savage beasts who prowled around like the hounds of hell. This film is his memorial to those times, those feelings and to the dogs themselves.

‘Woman is Fickle’ is based on the famous aria from the opera Rigoletto by Verdi. No woman is safe from the dissolute Duke of Mantua, who dreams of naked, languid beauties. But he also complains about their capriciousness. The women in the film refer to famous paintings: by Matisse, Botticelli, Degas. The film is a trip through male fantasies, seen through the eyes of a woman.
